Patriotism, religion and hard work hold less importance
Patriotism, religious faith, having children and other priorities that helped define the national character for generations are receding in importance to Americans, a new Wall Street Journal-NORC poll finds.
The survey, conducted with NORC at the University of Chicago, a nonpartisan research organization, also finds the country sharply divided by political party over social trends such as the push for racial diversity in businesses and the use of gender-neutral pronouns.
Some 38% of respondents said patriotism was very important to them, and 39% said religion was very important. That was down sharply from when the Journal first asked the question in 1998, when 70% deemed patriotism to be very important, and 62% said so of religion. The share of Americans who say that having children, involvement in their community and hard work are very important values has also fallen. Tolerance for others, deemed very important by 80% of Americans as recently as four years ago, has fallen to 58% since then.

Yeah — that’s when the dripping began.
Government schools have no place in a free nation.
The evil cabal which operates Biden's puppet-strings has an evil genius.
It realized that traditional American values, especially the military, constituted a bastion of patriotism and morality and that this bastion stood as the ultimate obstacle to the objective of the cabal, viz. THE DESTRUCTION OF THE USA.
Shrewdly, it sabotaged the military, making it weak; placing it under the control of weak and stupid leaders, sympathetic to or easily controlled by the cabal; divesting it of all the masculine virtues; and rendering the military utterly unattractive, even repugnant, to its natural constituents, e.g. dedicated, patriotic, unselfish, masculine warriors.
The ultimate plan is obvious:
Emasculate the military. Bring it under the control of the cabal. Then stock the military with illegal immigrants by the offer of citizenship in return for service.
And PRESTO! The military is under the control of the cabal and so is the entire USA , as all these new citizens can be expected to vote Democrat, giving the Democrat Party, which is the political arm of the cabal, a permanent majority in the electorate and permanent control over the USA. In addition, the politicized military, thus under the control of the cabal, can be used to control the American People and crush dissent.
The result: The cabal has permanent and complete control over both the military and the government.
It's all easy to understand, but, due in large measure to the once revered US free press, which is the propaganda machine of the cabal, and the once revered but now politicized US federal agencies, and the once revered but now severely misled and highly politicized US intelligentsia and academic institutions, it is beyond the grasp of millions of Americans, including many who would recoil in horror and immediately put a stop to the evil objectives of the cabal, if they were intelligent enough to understand what's happening, and including many in the press, in government agencies, and among the intelligentsia if they were honest enough and intelligent enough to realize what's happening.
The (neo) Marxists are winning. We stand for nothing except "tolerance" as defined by our government elites, and consumerism (again, defined by our government elites).

I don’t even know how they define something like “patriotism” in a survey like this, but I suspect a lot of good, solid people lost theirs over the last three years. In fact, there’s hardly an American institution left today that’s worthy of the respect you’d give to a dog fart.
It was in no way as universal as that. In Arkansas where my family came up, virtually none had K-12 public education before the 1920s when it was made mandatory. My great grandparents, near all had minimal education, most none. The only one before 1920 that I found to be literate was a Methodist minister, so he was required to be able to read.
Virginia was a model because of Jefferson establishing public education there, but don’t confuse what happened there with the whole country.
Meanwhile, less than 20% of Americans believe that global warming is real, but we won’t mention that and ruin a perfectly good doom and gloom parade.
Public education was first entrenched in urban areas. This is a big reason why the rural South lagged in establishing formal public schools. But the political and cultural trend was already in place in the U.S. When the U.S. territories were subdivided in the 19th Century under the Homestead Act of 1862 and similar legislation, provisions were made for each 36-section township to include one “school section” that would not be settled and would eventually become the home of the school for the surrounding settlements.
That’s really part of the problem. I challenge anyone to find an American alive today who ever fought a war to defend these things.

All this article means is that we need to get to work. Using the short sword, one person at a time.
As long as the left continues to have dead babies, we just need to eliminate the NEA/AFT and hold on for a generation. Homeschooling by the patriotic Americans will displace the anti-American Americans.
No wonder America is in such deep trouble.

For turning our backs on God we are receiving all the curses He warned us about.
And those pesky child labor laws that got 10 year olds out of the mills and into schools where they could get an education and better themselves was a drip moment.
Public and free schools help insure an educated and free populace. It provides the opportunity to better one’s station in life.
Are some public schools garbage? Yes and those local communities need to engage and remind them who pays for and ‘owns’ the schools. If you are truly of the belief that public schools have no place in a free nation, perhaps you should go to some 3rd world dirt farmer countries to see how that works out for the people there. The sheer ignorance displayed by some people here is astounding some days.
