Anti-Christian liberals have won this round at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy — which dismissed the desire of thousands of religious faithful.
The academy recently bowed to left-wing pressure and agreed to remove a painting of Jesus Christ from one of its most prominent conference rooms..

Jews or Atheists??
Communists................
As I asked....Jews or Atheists??
And they allow them to stay.
Note to “woke” merchant sailors -
When you are in Force 10+ winds and seas, don’t ask for help from the image in that painting.
They often overlap but your suspicion is accurate
Mikey Weinstein of military religious freedom org is behind this
Notice they always use names that sound far more innocuous than the true intention
Weinstein is a busybody brought to fame as an appointee of the Obama administration in this arena

I assure you,, they WILL once they are in the water for sure.
Leave the Jesus painting.
Put another painting beside it. Size it smaller, in the ratio
of ‘woke’ complainers to the other student population.
The other painting has the devil under the boat, pulling it down, and smiling.
I don’t get it. I don’t think it’s Jews and Muslims who complain about pictures of Jesus. It’s just athiests. And why do they care about a picture of something they don’t believe in? Would they go to Athens and demand to tear down a statue of Zeus?
What, exactly, is it about Jesus and his life, that they are so triggered about? Would be be triggered by a picture of Ghandi? They don't believe in God, so what is it about a non-divine man who told people to be nice to one another that makes their heads spin and vomit gallons of pea soup?
I don’t think it’s Jews, at least not officially. Though maybe there are ethnic Jews in that group I wouldn’t think they are complaining because it is offensive to their religion - because it isn’t. Like I said, they should go to Athens Greece and start demanding the removal of the statues of Zeus.
Their name “religious freedom” is deliberately misleading. They don’t want religious freedom they want freedom from religion. But only one. Everyone else gets a pass.
They would never do this to Muslims.
Appropriate response;
"Your petition has been received and given all due consideration. We will keep it handy and when you can demonstrate that 51% of the attendees of this Academy have signed it and signatures have been verified, we will revisit this issue and address all concerns at that time. Thank you."
As my Dad used to say, "There are no atheists in foxholes."
Tell the men who went down with the Edmund Fitzgerald that Christ was unnecessary to those in peril during the final moments of their lives.
They wouldn’t do it to anyone other than Jesus. And really I don’t think it is Jews and Muslims behind this - at least not on religious grounds. I would bet good money these are atheists regardless of their heritage. I just don’t understand why an atheist would be offended by a painting of something they don’t believe in. If the academy had the original Goya painting of Saturn Devouring his Son would they complain?
I’ve thought that logically one cannot assume that a depiction of a man nailed to a cross necessarily signifies Jesus of Nazareth since it was a common form of capital punishment in that region 2000 years ago. One can have a hobby of collecting miniature art forms of capital punishment such as a man in an electric chair, a man hanging in a noose, with his head in a guillotine or nailed to a cross. He could keep those items on his desk at work and not be guilty of promoting Christianity.
