It should have been remembered as one of the greatest Super Bowls ever, as both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs came out hot and scored touchdowns on their first drives. Then Philadelphia dominated for a stretch, only to be confronted by a furious second-half comeback by KC and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Doesn’t matter that his hand was on his waist. Uncatchable ball.
Uncatchable.
I think the holding was the grabbing of the jersey just before this image of the hand on the back.
Don't confuse me with facts or reality! Wahhhhhhhhhh!
So sorry that the shinny pants in the color you liked did not win the game.
And, never mind that the Chief's touchdown off of an Eagle's fumble was erroneously called back, as though the pass was not complete.
That rule apparently doesn’t apply any longer.
Sideline ref who threw the flag couldn’t see the defender’s hand-placement. He only saw the receiver turn his body - and ASSUMED it was the defender who caused it - when actually, the receiver turned himself.
It was holding, he got caught by the refs. Legit call. End of story.
A clear hold and likely prevented a touchdown. The same players were involved in an earlier pass interference that wasn’t called and forced the Chiefs to punt. How about the fumble that was ruled an incomplete pass that cost KC a touchdown? Amazing to hear the whiners try to claim victimization over a clearly correct call.
Bradberry: “It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide,” he said after Super Bowl LVII.
From what I understand, catchability is irrelevant to holding calls. However, this is just deja vu all over again. I was rooting for the Rams last time, and that skinny, almost non-existent penalty against the Bengals near the end really marred the game. The NFL just sucks. They’ve made the rules so inscrutable and staff the games with these incompetent refs who always get involved in the game’s outcome. I keep saying I’m not watching NFL again, maybe this time I mean it. For sure it cured me of racism with all those “Stop Racism” messages everywhere, so I’m grateful for that /s
Uncatchable has absolutely nothing to do with a holding call. People that think it does simply do not know the rule book.
Just another ref tainted joke of a game. Could have been awesome, but the “look at me” refs ruin everything, like always.
They would have scored anyway. They had plenty of time left on the clock
Nah. It was ticky-tack, but legit. And they were already in FG range. All that really happened was it gave the Chiefs a chance to kill the clock. Maybe the Eagles could pulled a run, maybe not.
Doesn’t matter that his hand was on his waist. Uncatchable ball.

If the call were defensive pass interference that might mean something, but it was defensive holding. Interference takes place when the ball is in the air, defensive holding takes place before the ball is thrown. There is no “catchable ball” rule in defensive holding.
