VIDEO: Ginger Candy Can Make Difference Between a Great or Lousy Cruise

Ginger candy can make all the difference in the world between a pleasurable or a horrible cruise ship experience. Why? Because it prevents seasickness without side effects. I know it is highly effective because I am extremely susceptible to seasickness. In fact, I once even got seasick aboard Cleopatra's Barge at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. However, since I took ginger candy during my last two cruises I did not once feel seasick even when the waves were high.

We are going on another cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on January 28 and I have already purchased 3 bags of ginger candy. The Celebrity Apex offers incredible dining experiences so it would be a shame to ruin it via getting so seasick that I can't even stand to look at food without feeling nauseous. I want to enjoy gobbling down the food washed down with my drink package so the ginger candy is absolutely essential for my cruise ship happiness.

“Is a cruise ship really subject to wave action, to the point of sea-sickness?”

Yes. In early December 2005 (I think it was 2005) we did a 15-day CA-HI-CA cruise and we had a couple of brutal days on the way over. Many passengers were ex-Navy guys headed for an event at Pearl Harbor, and quite a few of them got seasick. They said they hadn’t experienced that while in the service.

Later, we learned that three major storms had converged on where we were.

The Ginger must have protected Ginger Gun from being arrested despite being the only J6 "protestor" who was armed.

A friend’s father told stories about one of his friends that loved fishing from charter boats, but blew his lunch every time. One time, he could tell that Willy was just barely holding it together, so he yelled “Let ‘er go, Willy!” That did it.

If you get woosy try climbing into one of the swimming pools.....you’ll be surprised how fast the sea sickness goes away.

I discovered that while fishing on a small boat and got sea sick.

Nothing worse than that AND being hot.....I climbed off the back of the boat, got in the water and the sickness went away almost immediately.....I couldn’t believe it.

> I met Ginger Candy down at the local gentlemen’s club. She was thrilled to go on a cruise to the Bahamas with me. <

I’m guessing the cruise tickets weren’t the most expensive part of the trip.

Sure, I’d expect it in the Pacific, or even open seas of the Atlantic. I’ve heard the Queen Mary had vomit flowing down the stairs when it was used as a troop transport. I’ve been on charter boats with people that were just miserable, but didn’t puke.

I had that in reverse. I was scuba diving about 50 feet down in the Keys and when I surfaced the INSTANT I touched the ladder of our dive boat to come aboard, I immediately felt seasick.

Fast food joint breakfast sandwiches are the kiss of death.

I know very seasoned offshore captains that never get sick but eat one of those before going out.......barfarama every time.

Agree!……my daughter does carry GinGins, especially on mountain roads

Also, I keep either Yogi Ginger Tea or Twinings Lemon-Ginger herbal tea on hand for tummy upsets.
I prefer the Lemon Ginger……it’s not as strong as Ginger

Probably because the boat was rocking.....which was also rocking you.

That’s the idea....to alleviate the rocking motion.

I'm like that with Popeyes chicken sandwiches except they exit from the opposite end. That's why I always bring those sandwiches home before eating them.

IIRC Ginger Candy was Playmate of the Month, Miss January 1964.

I’ve been on cruises, but the ONLY time I was truly seasick was a Holland America as soon as it started moving…..I wasn’t the only one

Something about ‘a stabilizer’ not doing its job???.

Even a three-hour cruise is better with Ginger Candy.

Every baby boomer knew this from childhood.

Especially if the weather starts getting rough, and the tiny ship is tossed.

I went deep sea fishing with my high school girlfriend’s father and her brothers. The boat went WAY out. As soon as we lost sight of land...it was barf city for me. When the shore came back into view, I was much better. That was 55 years ago.
Never gone deep sea fishing again. The worst sick I’ve ever had...worse than any drunk sick. Remember it to this day...getting queasy right now.
