Elon fired 99.4% of twitter staff and the site is still running so far.

BREAKING:
Musk is now running Twitter with less than 50 key employees, down for 7,500 at its peak.
“Everything is normal, we may be profitable soon.” He says.

RACIST!!!
I would suspect Austin TX would be a favorite relocation area.
No, that was Linda Lovelace.
Is it a Partridge Family chick?
I’m in my 40’s…
Civil servant laws the corrupt Congress put in place under Dems prevent wholesale firings of Federal employees.
i turn on the faucet this morning, left the room, came back one hour later, it is still running! (/s)
i’m sure if they fired everyone, the servers will still be up for awhile. the degradation will happen eventually.
i took a week off from work, i’m the only one who knows how to do my specific task, so i dread coming back monday with 100’s of tickets from the week before. (i am replaceable, i always believe everyone is replaceable, it will just depends on how much $)
Not that I'll readily admit to.🤨😉

“its like a good colon cleanse.......”
I was reminded of “Colon Blow” segment with Dan Aykroid on the old SNL.
Didn't Trump say he would move whole departments out of Washington DC
He could just sell some off to the highest bidder
Any useful ones could get stock options for key employees
Are you accusing me of watching ‘Behind the Green Door’? Never happened...
I’m in a similar situation.
Any time off I have to really look at the calendar and figure how much misery I’m coming back to. I am the only person here who does what I do.
I’d love to know what Elon will pay those who stay loyal to him and the company.
Even in my own career, I've seen these types leave my company in a huff, muttering on the way out that we will miss them when they are gone. Then they are gone and more often than not, everything in the workplace that they touched actually improves!
I call it "addition by subtraction." When you remove the bad apples, the bad attitudes and the negative people from the workplace, the remaining employees step up and take the company to new heights.
Twitter needed this purge of useless self-important people for a long time.
Now Elon Musk tweets out last night stating about the exodus "The best people are staying, so I'm not super worried."
Now that is a real kick in the stomach to those who bailed out yesterday, thinking that Twitter wouldn't survive without their precious contributions.
In 1991 I built a machine using an Intel based EISA motherboard. experimental I/O cards and 16 drives. People thought I was crazy. The thing looked like a science project, I named it Frankenstein. From there I built my own server farms and small data centers. Backup generators, special cooling, etc. Today it’s all virtualized.
IMO many of this Silicon Valley outfits are nothing more than flytraps for a Ponzi like way of sucking in VC money by VC firms that know they are playing with smoke and mirrors.
Aside from a valuation based on advertising revenue I don’t see how Twitter could be worth $50 million. There is another formula for the eyeballs and fingertips seeing and hitting Twitter and that may be where Musk sees the long term value. I expect that he will bring coders from Tesla in and start revamping the codebase and adding new services and functions. On top of this keep in mind that the guy is building HIS OWN worldwide ISP in the sky. That platform will do a lot of things we can’t imagine. At a minimum it becomes it’s own video and entertainment provider.
Musk is certainly fun to watch.....
Welcome to the Machine!
Cracked me up last night to read a quote from a Twitter employee saying exactly that.
These people don't seem to realize Musk's organization has genius brainiacs to spare. One of them could probably do in an afternoon what two or three Twitter employees took a couple of weeks to do, between visits to the wine bar.
HAL is on duty
