As a millennial, In my opinion there are 2 reasons for the Republican's issue in gaining the genZ and millennial support
1. We want more social freedoms. We believe the government has no right to dictate our lives. My body my choice, both ways. Do drugs, not my right to tell you no. You are gay? Cool, doesn't matter. Marriage is a religious institution not a government responsibility. Tax implications are another story and if two people are “married” the federal government should not be regulating morality. This is where Republicans mess up. Stop focusing on these petty things and focus on what matters. (THE ECONOMY, FOREIGN AFFAIRS, SPENDING ON OTHERS WHILE WE STRUGGLE, ETC)
2. Indoctrination is a thing and it is getting worse. When I was young I was told by a student teacher “democrats are for the people and republicans are for corporations”, BUT IT WASNT THROWN INTO MY CARTOONS! This "Nick news" aka political ad, has been running on Nickelodeon, over and over for at least a week.
Don’t forget open borders...
"how does abortion not infringe on someone else's life"
Which ones?
No thanks... this is a pivotal struggle for the future of Western civilization and we can’t win that struggle by abandoning core principles of our worldview in a vain attempt to lure in fools and hedonists.
If you want your foolish hedonistic life, then vote Democrat and watch society crumble. By the time you figure out that recreational drugs and easy sex aren’t worth destroying civilization over, hopefully it won’t be too late to reverse course. But it probably will be.
As in the days of Lot
“Why is it the government’s responsibility, especially with regards to the federal government, to decide what is moral?”
The government doesn’t decide. God decided, and he told all of us, and wrote it in our hearts. It is then up to us, the people, to tell the government how to implement that morality in the law.
And the government has been “legislating morality” forever. You have no problem, I would guess, with the government imposing a moral restriction against murder, or theft. It’s only the moral crimes that people personally like to commit that they object to the government outlawing.
Also, for the most part the federal government doesn’t decide these things. The police power, which includes just about every “moral” category of crime, lies entirely with the state governments. That’s one of the reasons why the Supreme Court returned the issue of abortion to the states, because it is entirely within their purview.
It’s a perfect example of Judges 2:10
Districts 4, 17, and 19.
“If I want to be a promiscuous heathen, then I should be free to do so.”
You are free to do so. The only difference now is that some states have decided that you are not allowed to kill all the offspring you chose to produce through your promiscuous lifestyle just because you want to avoid consequences.
It’s kind of like the left always likes to say “free speech doesn’t mean no consequences”, well the same holds true for your sexual freedom.
“So long as the lack of morals does not infringe on the life, liberty, or property of others, the federal government should not have a say.”
When any behavior, moral or otherwise, is perceived to be a threat to the health of society as a whole, society will move against it. The threat can be an indirect one.
Geez, a little research would have helped me.
I found this.
How Republicans Flipped 4 Congressional Seats in New York
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/09/nyregion/ny-house-races-redistricting.html
And CD 22, Onondaga County, Katko’s old seat, is so far leaning R. That would make 5 if the democrats let that happen.
Yes!!! Exactly 💯👍
Stopping the murder of babies isn’t some amorphous theoretical postulation about morality.
It is stopping the murder of babies.
Republicans should stop being globalist corporatist uniparty stooges.
That would improve the Republican brand.
Freedom of non-association gets ignored by libertarians.
Well said.
Wow. Even better. For or five seats.
Wow, yikes.
#1 - first off, they ARE important. And why would you gripe if they were not important? But that aside, TELL US WHERE REPUBLICANS ACTUALLY MAKE ANY RULES TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO!
Challenge these idiot Dems about WHAT RULES DO REPUBLICANS MAKE.
Seriously, it is DEMS who love rules restricting things. Hell, our kid can’t even ride a bike in freedom from a confounded helmet! Guess who insists on that?
Bingo.
We need people who will work to rid us of these banana republic devices.
By 0.9% of votes. He is going to win, cuz he ain’t a Demonicrat. They’re pure evil.
