I just discovered Pinochle and it’s a lot of fun.

I’m not very good yet and have to use a cheat sheet for my melds because I haven’t memorized them yet. I also know I’ve got a long way to go to figure the ins and outs of this game. But it’s a lot of fun - better than Euchre or Bridge. If anyone knows of resources I could use to get better I would be grateful.

Pinochle is a great card game. Euchre is too simple and Bridge is too complex. Pinochle is a good middle ground where you have to think a little bit, but not too much. I want to relax and have fun when I play cards.
However, my all-time favorite card game is Skat, the German pastime.

Love cribbage. Haven’t played in years. I have one cribbage board that is at least 55 years old.

By the way, I don't know which version you're playing, but I find the original one-deck version of Pinochle (48 cards) much better than the two-deck variant (too many cards!).

Ha ha! “Mahjong”! That game will forever remind me of the mean Jewish “Nancy Pelosi’s” that I used to bartend for at one of the many country clubs I worked at! 😜
(Looked fun, though!)

I was permanently disfigured from a card game and now pour Holy Water on every deck. I see.

Pinochle is a great card game. Euchre is too simple and Bridge is too complex. And good luck finding anyone outside of Ohio or Michigan who plays Euchre.
I agree about Bridge. The formal bidding conventions make it something you really can't play casually. Pinochle is a nice balance.

I play mahjong. Having Filipino in-laws helps lol. It’s addictive.

Its great fun and I’ve had pinochle parties at my house with 6 tables...number one thru 6, one being the winningest table...you play four hands and then the winners move up or down the list....

Anyone play Casino? Dear old dad played a ton during WW2, and taught the whole family growing up. Hard now to find anyone who knows it.
