This morning I was in the process of uploading a video I created about making the GREATEST Margarita in the world. However, I noticed there was no monetization button. When I checked further I noticed my entire channel had been demonetized (again).
On top of that there was NO explanation from YouTube for the demonetization either on the dashboard or via email which always happened when they demonetized before. I checked on Twitter and it turns out that many other video creators had the same experience. For what I can piece together is that YouTube only meant to demonetize all videos covering the Ukraine war (and why they would want to do that can be racked up to CENSORSHIP) but they accidentally also demonetized what I first thought was thousands but which on more examination appears to be MILLIONS of channels.
YouTube screwed up bigtime. Censorship is never a good look but this time the angry reaction appears to be on a MASSIVE scale due to the YUUUUUUGE number of channels accidentally demonetized.
“ Git to Rumble...”

Good idea, looked its monetizing:
“Rumble’s first monetization option is through an ad revenue split. While YouTube only shares 10-15% of ad revenue with users, Rumble shares up to 60% of ad revenue with its users.Jul 1, 2022”
I would strongly urge everyone to also post anything they post on YouTube on Rumble, etc., but telling someone to object to YouTube’s censorship by going on Rumble is like telling someone who’s been denied a parade permit in Washington to go hold their march in a dark hole in a the remote mountains of Pakistan.
Rumble will get dozens of views where YouTube would get millions.
What is the link to your channel?
There’s a bunch of monetization stuff missing from my channel too and I don’t do ANYTHING political at all. In YT Studio, each video says I have no warnings for a ‘Demonetization Audit’, but all options to turn monetization on/off for each video are gone.
I do a cooking show. Nothing even close to controversial. I’m thinking this must be some kind of glitch.
Silly FReeper. Margaritas are racist.
I never heard of Odysee before. It looks pretty good. It seems comparable. I’ll use it for a while to see. Rumble is pretty limited, more like a website than a video hosting platform. BitChute is primarily conspiracy and not much other content.
This is causing YouTube video uploads to slow down to a crawl because few of the previously monetized channels will want to upload videos that are NOT monetized. I currently have a video about the BEST Margarita in the world sitting there as unlisted and won’t change it to public until after they fix the monetization glitch they caused in their desperation to suppress videos about Ukraine war.
I want to watch your margarita video. Is it available?
They came for others. I did nothing.
They came for me. There was nobody left to help me.
On my cell phone and tablet I have all the Google, Bookface, Yooztube buttons compressed into one button. That way I remind myself every time I have to hit that botton, everything in there is wide open.
The bastards will get theirs!
Not yet but as soon as YouTube resolves its screwup I am making it available. BTW, the "secret" ingredient was Curacao Blue.
Same could be said/asked of the MSM.
Sorry, could you explain “demonetize” ... thank you.
I subscribed. Always happy to support Freepers.
Watch some of the podcast interviews of Yeonmi Park, such as Valutainment and Dr. Jordan Peterson. She says in one of them “Freedom is hard.” She implies that on many occasions, she would have returned to N. Korea if she could be sure of having enough to eat.
Very enlightening!
Cool, thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Maybe Elon will buy YouTube, but don’t hold your breath.
They aren’t demonetized. YouTube will make the add revenue from them but you won’t. They are just cutting out the creators so they can make more.
