You really need to start looking at what is transpiring without your rose-colored glasses on. Evil is on the march.

Oh please. You do remember all the videos of McCain, Graham and democrats over in Ukraine talking to their military trying to urge them to attack Russia?

There are people just like the ones I mentioned above doing the same that McCain and crew were doing in Ukraine, in other countries trying to mess with their elections and ignite color revolutions.

The idea that Russia can sit there and assume that no other country is going to undermine them is pretty darn naive.

Crimea has been a part of Russia since Catherine the Great.

Cope and seethe.

Total BS. We don’t follow that rule. Somebody finally stood up to DC And called them out on their lies and depravity. Nice to see. With any luck it will help topple the NWO WEF occupation government that has insisted DC since Reagan left office.

I suppose you mean as the United States does, to “be anything it wants to be INSIDE its own borders.”

Leave Ukraine and then govern your country how you wish, end of story.<;> I'm pretty sure Putin would be very happy to do that if the west would do the same. So, the US deep state invades Ukraine in 2014 and launches the Maidan revolution regime change. And then NATO says to Ukraine, we are coming to the rescue. Then, when we finish we will break up Russia and force regime change there. And Putin is supposed to sit back and watch all this from his palace and wait until they show up on his doorstep in Red Square? You are just plain stupid if you believe that crap. You're watching way to much CNN.

That’s a very simplistic view of the international order. Too simplistic.

Personally, I don’t know all the facts, but I do know that as a proud US citizen that loves the Constitution, I can find very little of what he said to disagree with.

Isn’t that also true of us here? How many overseas military bases do we have? How many overseas military bases does Russia have? Does Russia have bases in any NATO countries? Do we have bases in former Warsaw Pact countries?

Why are we doing stuff in Ukraine with biolabs? Why do we support Nazi-aligned military groups who have been shelling Russian areas for 8 years?

Meanwhile the US is fighting wars in Asia, well beyond its borders. NATO bombed the snot out of Serbia when Serbia did not attack NATO. Putin is right. The west with its rainbow flags, gender confusion, fear of Christianity, reduction of merit to affirmative action is immoral and corrupt. The deep state stole the election from trump who did not want to go along with this crap.

There is this perception among many FReepers that Putin is Trump’s buddy, therefore he cannot be bad. They do not understand Trump. Nor do they understand Putin.

Garry Kasparov, the chess master, wrote a very good book entitled Winter is Coming (2015) in which he denounces appeasement of Putin--those who appease Putin now are making the same mistake that people made appeasing Hitler in the 1930s.

If the Ukrainians had not fought so fiercely to maintain their independence, Putin might have gone after the Baltic countries by now or even Poland. This is someone who considers the collapse of the Soviet Union the greatest calamity of the 20th century.

C-SPAN had a talk on this morning by Michael Kimmage, a professor at the Catholic University of America (originally recorded 8/31/22), entitled "Ukraine, Russia and the US." It may be available on the C-SPAN website. He had a lot of good observations about how the Ukraine situation fits into the broader question of how the West dealt with the countries which freed themselves from Soviet domination after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Baltic states, Poland and the Czech Republic were accepted into the EU and NATO because they seemed readier and more "European" while Ukraine had greater problems with corruption and was not seen as "European" as the countries which were accepted.

Much of this is typical communist / leftist tripe against Western civilization from the beginning - straight of the USSR / CCP playbook trying to paint themselves as morally superior to Western culture and systems of government. See how he’s going all the way back to the 17th century. Unbelieveable anyone defends this. “multipolarity” - rhetoric and an openly stated end goal of the CCP (a ploy to ultimately lead to them being the dominant power).

Then trying to appeal to religious values as a moral basis for his behavior (this from a man who openly brags about his nation’s prostitution industry and has mistresses and a nation that has one of the highest abortion rates, has banned evangelism, etc.).

Maybe it was a bad idea for the Ukrainian NAZIs to wage a genocidal war on Russian speakers in east and south Ukraine. Just saying .....
