How many users are really on Twitter? Maybe most people are not interested.
I seem to spend most of my limited time there blocking anti-Semitic and vulgar posters.
I tried it. I literally got tired of arguing with the believers in the “Great Jewish Banker Conspiracy”
Maybe I just had bad luck
My main issue is just that I really don’t do social media anymore. I kind of got over it. I think it started when I retired a little over a year ago. I am a gab member and get their information and my email constantly but I haven’t been on gab for a long time
I tried gab when it first came out and something approaching 50% of the posts were bashing Jews. I don’t believe Gab was set up as a jew bashing site, but if you set up a commenting forum as a “hey anything goes, no censorship at all” and what results is a den of hateful antisemites, that’s a problem. Also, if the current gab environment hasn’t chased the Jew bashers off, saying something like “it’s like 40% less antisemitic than it used to be” is hardly a good response for folks who don’t want any.
I did a search for freerepublic on GAB and several options came up. How do I find your group?
There were a lot of anti-Jewish paid posts and supports there. Mostly bots.
I like GAB a lot better than Twitter. I joined GAB the day I deleted by Twitter account. January of 2021.

The Hitler devotion and constant dropping of N word really doesn’t bother me for some reason.
It’s kinda like being addicted to a certain dealers heroin, and then that dealer gets abusive so you choose to go to another heroin dealer instead.
Or you can do the hard work and quit heroin.
I quit. These platforms have too much power to influence and control - and just because they echo my sentiments doesn’t make it anylessso than the competitors product.

Which red-blooded, Caucasian, American, Conservative male would want to block the N-word? It is one of the staples of our vocabulary, don’t you know? Well, at least, that is what the communists say! ;-)
Some only pay lip service to free speech.
I heard Jared Kushner urged Trump to avoid Gab, because Gab wouldn't censor anti-Semites. So Trump went to Parlor, and now Truth Social.
I also hear that Gab is an echo chamber. Like Parlor, Truth Social, and Free Republic.
An "echo chamber" serves a purpose, but it does ghettoize conservatives, preventing us from influencing mainstream, moderate, and independent voters.
Twitter and Facebook are where the audience is. FR, Gab, etc. are members of the choir posting to each other.
I just got permanently suspended on Twitter, they are evil.
My problem is there are now too many social media sites, and it takes a lot of effort to add followers. Try @DaxtonBrown, I think that’s my Gab account.
I prefer to spend my time in FREE REPUBLIC!
I follow various interest groups on Gab and enjoy the wide variety of viewpoints. The memes are great. Probably not great for sensitive types, there are no sacred cows. The few liberals there try to hold their own on relatively unfriendly ground and that is refreshing when compared to other social media sites where the conversation can be shut down immediately if “thought crimes” are alleged to have occurred.
Until the media looks for other outlets, Twitter will continue to be the central platform. Their alliance with “news” outlets keeps the main flow of traffic coming…
Been on Gab since inception, give or take a few months. As stated previously, legal posts are not censored. There is a mute button and a block button, they are very handy. There are filters which you can set up. For the most part you are in control, if you can’t scroll past the BS, block/mute. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, no one is forced to listen...ain’t free speech awesome:)
From the moment I joined gab in 2016, I got nothing but threats and intimidation. Some of the people who were doing it were people I have known for a long time who are involved in organized crime now. (A couple of them I had forgotten their names and that they existed. Now they’re back! Wheeeee. They’re apparently not done with me yet.)
From the second I made an account on gab, I received bullying and threats. The pr0n is sickening, and - ya know - how can anybody be okay with “filtering out” stuff that’s so gross and offensive and pretending it doesn’t exist? Connect with all your Xtian friends on gab and filter out the nastiness, hate, and lunacy. Sure, that sounds like a great idea. Do you connect with your Xtian friends on “pornhub” too?
“You can filter out the n-word” - yeah, but you can’t filter ALL of the idiots who advocate killing ethnic minorities, women, or anybody who doesn’t want to follow their authoritarian rule. If you want to spend time on gab, you have to be okay with the most extreme and violent hate rhetoric. “Filter it out” - but it’s there. There are a lot of platforms where people don’t get to post pr0n and threats, so maybe just use those? That stuff about gab being for Christians - no it’s not. It’s for GANGSTERS who like to manipulate, exploit, and rip off the gullible.
I am not that bothered by threats, which is something one can expect on the wild and wooly internet, but I felt forced to delete my account after all the death threats I continually got - again, a lot of it having to do with folks on gab who I knew in the remote past who are now involve in drug and human trafficking. I deleted my account because I knew that if something DID happen, that if I was attacked or whatever, it would be said that I was “asking for it” by remaining in a venue where people wanted me gone.
And clearly someone wanted me to leave the forum and never come back - one day I kept getting logged out again and again, and prompted to make a new password each time, so I finally deleted my account. Just a short time later - just a week or two weeks - the entire forum went down because of the synagogue shooting in PA.
Some of the freaks and criminals of gab are still causing me a problem and I haven’t had an account on there for years now.
If you like porn and death threats, you’ll like gab. And if you like the porn and death threats on gab, you’ll probably end up getting set up for some sort of crime. Did I mention the govt spooks and stalkers who use gab to gaslight the crazies and track criminals?
And then there’s the data mining and tracking they do. Make an account, give them time, and they’ll find everyone you’ve ever talked to on the internet. Then they’ll find everyone you’ve ever worked with, gone to school with, all your family members....
Gab is like a Ru$$ian version of tiktok except not as friendly and more obvious about exploiting your personal information.
