I just caught John Solomon on Hannity and his explaination of Trump's "standing order" was pretty sketchy. He claimed Trump's standing order was that anything he removed from the White House was "automatically declassified". Obviously, that's ridiculous. You don't declassify documents that remain critically sensitive just because you want to take them home. That's banana republic level stuff, and I doubt Trump would operate that way.

People in and out of power do whatever they get away with. This was termed the “state of nature” and is seen in smash and grab LA robberies just as in DC.
If one group plays by rules and its opponents do not, we call that oppression or tyranny. If all parties play by the same rules, we call that “civilization.”
The left has chosen its course. If the right wants to obey until they’re given permission, well then. A certain degree of forbearance is prudent of course, but try not to wait until you’re actually on the train car.
Even if every House Republican signed on to it, which we can be certain won’t happen, Pelosi would send it to some committee, there to be tabled and killed. What she did is about all we can do, until if/when we retake the House. House plus Senate would be better yet, but the House alone, has power if you have the will to use it. As you suggest, the GOP’s will is suspect. But if Biden fails to kill us he may stoke our furnace enough.

There is no legal basis for that. There is no provision in the constitution that allows any other laws to restrict who can be a candidate for President.
Democratic AGs may do all kinds of things, but trying to bar candidates from one party from being on the ballot seems like a very big leap that anyone with a shred of common sense would immediately realize was a terrible idea.

We can’t have the force of government swooping in to claim documents in any Americans’ homes they want because the president has suddenly declared whatever in their possession to be classified.
Nothing in the article says theyr were reclassified by Biden. No evidence, either.

Without question, this is YET ANOTHER set-up in an attempt to destroy Trump and to prevent him from running...and winning again.
This time, without having to worry about re-election or poll numbers (like every politician who wants to be re-elected does)...Trump can (and should) go absolutely scorched earth on everyone who tried for 4+ to destroy the President of the United States.
Then it's an Ex Post Facto crime.

We all know anyone in the democrat party is evil and loves to use government to steal and control. It is really that simple.
Slightly OT:
Turned on CNN TV to learn that:
1) it was a federal judge that signed warrant;
2) declassification is irrelevant;
3) the docs could easily fall into hands of foreign adversary;
4) he’ll face tax trial in Oct;
5) these are just some of his many crimes;
6) my stomach tried to rebel.
All of that in time it takes to toast bread. Who know what they say in hours of broadcast?
Upshot - it does not matter what the legality of any of this actually is, does not matter what reasonable people think.
The only thing that counts is the seriousness of the charges which prove the guilt. The more serious the charges, the more serious the crimes, which are so serious that some are calling for his execution (per article yesterday).
Everyone who is thinking there is some legal way to disprove the charges, will soon learn that disproving anything is irrelevant - the only thing that matters are the charges and the automatic convictions that follow. Rant, rave, site law: no one cares - guilty as charged is the only possible finding.
Possible outcome: DJT will be formally charged - likely with multiple crimes, perp-walked in cuffs on live TV, convicted by Jan6th-like court, sentenced to prison where he will linger until his execution at a convenient political opportunity.
After that, the real powers will step forward, assume power, and begin the first legal dictatorship of the country once called the land of the free. Any rebellion will be harshly dealt with by the full force of the US military - without mercy and with acceptable large civilian casualties. If you hide behind a blade of grass, they will set the field on fire, if you hide behind a tree, the forest will be shelled until not a twig remains.
No, once declassed that’s it.
The act of declassification is a Presidential order that starts the process for release of the documents, after they are vetted for several issues such as "sources and means" and personal information. Trump declassified and the bureaucrats refused to perform the release process.
I seriously doubt that Trump was deliberately withholding release of the declassified documents - it's just that the deep state refused to follow his release order.
But they will sing a different tune if they see it being used against Donald Trump.
There's precedent for a Democrat President putting his defeated opponent in prison--Woodrow Wilson did that to Eugene Debs.
If the Democrats retain control of Congress after the 2022 election, they could enlarge the Supreme Court to get the rulings they want—such as allowing them to bar Trump from running for President. Of course they would also reinstate Roe while they were at it.
