The Silence of DeSantis – Florida Governor Ducks Media Appearances, Records Statements, Seeking to Avoid Questions About Trump Raid
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | August 10, 2022 | Sundance

Posted on 08/11/2022 8:56:38 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.

Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?

The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.

On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.

DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.

The silence of DeSantis is deafening.

DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.

Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.

Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.

DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.

There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.

Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.

DeSantis most likely called Trump after the raid. They probably discussed at length what it means for the mid-terms and the 2024 election.

Trump and DeSantis are infinitely more well-informed than we are about what is going on, what it means, and what is the most effective way to respond.

He did issue a statement but, although it might not have been strong enough, politics determine that. He is running for POTUS it appears.

DeSantis’ tweet was strong. When more information comes out, he will say more.

Some people love drama queens.

What a ridiculous complaint. Is there some doubt the tweet referred to the FBI raid on Trump? And as this was not official Florida Governor business, it was totally appropriate to use his personal account.

Ron spoke to this.

Twitter is not the official register of anyone’s responses.

Heck, I don’t know anyone that has an active account and I have never signed up for tweets, even from Trump.

Sundance is an idiot.

For me, the jury’s been out on DeSantis. This may be his first real true challenge to show how he stands up stand up to the unconstitutional portion of the feds and the Left’s satanic “political correctness.”

So far, not looking too good.

And what would have been the appropriate reaction for you?

Sundance should know better and provide better opinions. This article is total garbage.

I am by no means a fanboy of DeSantis, i like what he does but also know everyone is flawed, this article though is hyperbole at best and borders on intellectual dishonesty.

DeSantis response was pretty spot on and wise, why get any further ahead of an issue, serves no purpose but to alienate potential low information voters.

He could have shut down all FBI field offices and shown the FBI to the border.

He made an incredibly strong statement. He should be focusing on the primary august 23. It seems he is. I can’t wait to vote for him again. I hope you do. Scary how republicans can drop kick a candidate just because they didn’t kiss your ass. Frustrating as hell.

After a fine initial response, DeSantis has been hiding under his desk the past three days. This obscenity occurred in his state, his area of operations.

He could have shut down all FBI field offices and shown the FBI to the border.

As Federal entities, he has no jurisdiction to shut down those offices any more than he could shut down a VA or Soc. Security office.

DeSantis isn’t ready to be President at this time.
His silence on the FBI raid/atrocity may mean he never will be ready.
Sad.

Kari Lake said she would’ve shut down the FBI in Arizona. This situation is a golden opportunity for Ron DeSantis to earn his bones with the Maga movement. For some unknown reason outside of that Twitter exchange he has decided to say nothing. I’m a Ron DeSantis fan boy and I want this guy to succeed I don’t want another Mike Pence. Who on this site wants him to remain silent? And who on this site wants him to stand up to the FBI and to the Biden ministration on this situation? It’s easy for me we are at war.

That has never been tested in a court. It's about time that it was....

“But……I was expecting a huge bellow of PURE RAGE from him Monday night!”

DeSantis is intelligent and after he did make his statement, is waiting for the dust to settle before shooting his mouth off. He is thoughtful, and considered, but as you have seen, will not hesitate to confront that which is wrong.
