Anybody out there ever spend time in a sensory deprivation tank? For me it would be like being stuck at DMV without a cell phone.

I’ve never been in one of those, but when I was in the seminary we had a 30-day silent retreat. After a while it can really get to you. The novice master would play classical music during meals and it was all we could do to keep from cracking up laughing.

Seems like there are stimuli there. I would call it an isolation tank but I guess I’m nitpicking.

I did, several times, a few years ago. It can be very relaxing and it’s not uncommon for people to go to sleep.
I was recovering from an injury and it helped relax the muscles involved.
I didn’t hear voices but then I didn’t smoke crack in there, either. It does give you uninterrupted time with your thoughts.
