Concerned about 2024, Democrats begin to circle a weak and wounded president. But beyond Biden’s fate, bigger questions loom
Nineteen months into his first term as president, Joe Biden appears to be the lamest of lame ducks. The rapidity and completeness of his political collapse is unprecedented in my long life as an observer of such things, and possibly in our history. It’s as if the death scene that wrapped up an elaborate plot happened 15 minutes into the movie. What on earth can we expect for next two hours? Similarly, with Biden disappearing into a tar pit of irrelevance, the next two-plus years until the 2024 presidential election present an uncertain and inscrutable aspect.
The array of disasters accumulated by Biden in less than two years is impressive: defeat and humiliation in Afghanistan; the outbreak of war in Europe; spiking inflation and energy costs; a sputtering economy; a resurgent pandemic; supply chain disruptions of essential goods like baby formula. The response to each crisis has followed a recurring pattern. Ignorance and denial come first. A few comic pratfalls later, the rhetoric turns to panicked scapegoating. The essential duty of government, which is fixing the situation, gets skipped altogether.

Prior to the resident Carter was the most inept prez I’d seen. Biden has raised the bar considerably.
Irrelevant. He’s about to inflict major pain upon our economy with his goofy climate regulations.
I know you’ll likely disagree, but it seems to me that Carter, at least, was a good man on a personal basis at that time. He was just an idiot President. Biden, OTOH, is genuinely malicious — or maybe it’s his handlers who are.

Premise is wrong. Brandon is not weak and wounded but the opposite - succeeding very well with the goal of destroying this nation.

Carter was gracious when he lost. The press wasn’t, but he was. They screamed about calls of states made too early while people on the west coast were still voting.
Carter was a terrible president, but he wasn’t a malignant cancer like Biden.
When Biden finally is forced out they will make Kamala appoint Newsome as VP as he’s their pick for 2024.
I concur. I don’t think Carter intentionally tried to hurt the US. Biden OTOH and his handlers are.

The demonRats are going to allow Republicans to impeach him. That’s how they get rid of him. No fuss, no muss. They hope by doing that they may get a few extra sympathy votes…see Billy Jeff Clinton.

Yep.... and they’re still harassing the man at every turn. Must be askeerd of him for some strange reason. I can’t imagine why.
Maybe it’s the yuge crowds that still flock to his rallies.
Maybe it’s his bluntness that ruffles too many of their widdle feathers.
Maybe he recognizes communists when he sees them.
Maybe he fixes things when they’re broken.
Maybe he doesn’t take no shiite from nobody.
Maybe he genuinely loves and respects America and her people.
