No training, no firearm, no body armor, no tacti-clown team, and no "intel".
She proved what could be done.

My post is not criticisms of the Uvalde school but just to contrast Lockport, Louisiana to today Uvalde.
In 1966 we did not have security officers in our high school. Even more oddly during hunting season many had shotguns in their vehicles as we we went hunting after school. This was just normal back then.
The concept of using our weapons in an illegal fashion did not exist in our minds. We killed ducks and other game. The swamp was a paradise for we young hunters.
I grew up in the desert of West Texas and the Swamps of South Louisiana. Both taught me much . I love them both and both can kill you if you do not understand them. Both are wonderful for a young kid but caution should be used. The desert has things that can kill you, the swamp has many things that can kill you.

I was reading an article about some small town in the south. They cover about 2 miles of interstate plus a main bypass. It was unbelievable how aggressive they are. The state law is you can only be in the left lane for 2000 feet or something at a time, even if passing. They pull you over at 2005 feet. Then they write you up for everything else.
If you want to contest it you have to show up for court. Court is held once a month with hundreds of people in line stretching outside and you may not get a hearing.
The cops are especially tough on blacks.
They post all of the violations on Facebook to shame people. One black guy (a pastor) is trying to sue them as they show a photo of his daughter as his “accomplice” as they thought she was the passenger. But his wife was the passenger. Suing them for defamation iirc.
Found the link below. I just saw another headline that state lawmakers are going to try to pass some laws to stop the town. (Half the town’s income is from the tickets - and can only go back into the police force for hiring, SWAT toys, etc.)
Sounds like they’re lacking in man power.
Local police in many communities get near nothing. They have to buy their own vests if they want one and they must pay for their own ammunition and practice on their own time.

Cops had plenty of gear to go after shooter but didn't for whatever reason.
Doesn’t make any sense. Sheriff is on scene and he’s the head LE of the county. If he’s not calling the shots then who is?
It gets worse yet again. The city of Uvalde is the county seat of Uvalde county. That means the sheriff’s office and county government is in the city of Uvalde. City pop 15,000 - county pop 25,000.
