How many speeding tickets do they hand out?
I was reading an article about some small town in the south. They cover about 2 miles of interstate plus a main bypass. It was unbelievable how aggressive they are. The state law is you can only be in the left lane for 2000 feet or something at a time, even if passing. They pull you over at 2005 feet. Then they write you up for everything else.
If you want to contest it you have to show up for court. Court is held once a month with hundreds of people in line stretching outside and you may not get a hearing.
The cops are especially tough on blacks.
They post all of the violations on Facebook to shame people. One black guy (a pastor) is trying to sue them as they show a photo of his daughter as his “accomplice” as they thought she was the passenger. But his wife was the passenger. Suing them for defamation iirc.
Found the link below. I just saw another headline that state lawmakers are going to try to pass some laws to stop the town. (Half the town’s income is from the tickets - and can only go back into the police force for hiring, SWAT toys, etc.)
