Right now, the Russkies are pounding the Ukes with artillery in which they are vastly superior. They’re not rushing ahead and taking a lot of casualties. They’re just steadily pounding away, inflicting casualties and gradually wearing the Ukes down in the East - where their best troops are.

Give it 30-60 more days and there will likely be a Russian breakthrough.
