Meanwhile, post-hearing briefs are to be submitted "next week" and it's anyone's guess as to how long it will take for a decision and any appeal.
MTG has 5 opponents on the ballot which is to say she is facing a Mar 24 runoff election. It seems possible if she is ruled against in the current forum that there may not be time left for her to be named on the May 24 regularly printed ballot - unless her campaign pays for a rush job.
One of her back-up plans ought to be to carefully consider which of her opponents is best suited to carry forward her theme and be prepared to provide her full support.
She needs to play a different game. They are trying to accuse her of committing a felony. She has not been charged with that. She does not have to answer questions that would “incriminate” her.
I am not sure what the correct strategy is, but going into court and answering their questions is the wrong strategy.
She needs to do an immediate interlocutory appeal of this ridiculous decision to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals which I believe has a substantial majority R.

I’d challenge the constitutionality of this rule.
Sec. 3 of the 14th amendment mentions insurrection but doesn't explain how someone is known to be guilty of it. So if the Democrats claim someone is guilty of insurrection, apparently that is enough--no court trial needed to show that someone is actually guilty of the offense.
It's the Republican Party's fault--it was Republican members of Congress who drafted the 14th amendment and coerced enough Southern states to ratify it to get to the three-quarters mark.
They don’t care if they lose the case. They want her to spend time and money on this, so as to damage her campaign.

A judge in Arizona just threw out, dismissed a similar piece of trash case trying to get Gosar, Biggs and Finchem off the congressional ballot due to their purported support of some “insurrection”.
This is more lawfare crap that the Democrats may wish they neveer started.
