RINO Coup In Tennessee: Three Trump Supporting Candidates REMOVED From Primary Ballot

President Trump remains one of the most popular figures in the Republican Party.  A vast majority want him to run again in 2024, and he has blown out other potential primary opponents in almost every poll.

The Republican establishment realizes that they cannot defeat Trump at the ballot box, so they have taken after Democrats by using underhanded tactics to defeat America First candidates.

RINOs in Tennessee passed a law that would prevent candidates who haven’t voted in the last three general elections from running, a bill that was primarily targeted at America First candidates.

Now, they have removed three Trump-supporting Congressional candidates from the primary ballot in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District.

The Executive Committee offered no public explanation for its decision and has refused requests for comment.

The Epoch Times Reports

“The Tennessee GOP has voted to remove three candidates who were vying for a seat representing the state’s 5th Congressional District.

Republicans voted to boot Morgan Ortagus, Robby Starbuck, and Baxter Lee from the primary ballot, Tennessee Republican Chairman Scott Golden told news outlets.

Golden and the party did not respond to requests for more information.

Ortagus, a State Department spokeswoman during the Trump administration, was recently endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Starbuck, a filmmaker who used to live in California, has promoted Trump policies such as strong border enforcement.

I would not vote for Ortega.

Now there's a better solution.

What does the TN Constitution say the qualifications are?

“The Tennessee GOP has voted to remove three candidates who were vying for a seat representing the state's 5th Congressional District.“

This is confusing. Did the State GOP make a rule or did the State Legislators pass a law? If it is a law, seems to me it wouldn't pass Constitutional muster but if it's a State GOP rule, they should run as Independents.

Have they filed a lawsuit?

I don’t think they have a leg to stand on. The Republicans have he right to put in their bylaws requirements for candidates to run on the party ticket.

Ortegus wouldn’t have even met the requirements before they were modified in 2017.

I’m not against Ortegus, but I’m not for Republicans ignoring duly passed bylaws either.

Ortagus was endorsed by Trump at the behest of his daughter and her husband, Jared Kushner...a HUGE red flag for any conservative. Donald Trump, Jr. was NOT a happy camper.

No — that would apply in the General Election. We’re talking about the TN GOP’s rule for running in their primary

It is a State GOP rule. Maybe these carpetbaggers will move to your State
and run for office after 1 month residence. Won’t happen in TN.
There is nothing RINO about this rule.
It is a good rule.

Anyone not a political insider in Tennessee need not run for office.

Better yet, let them move to your State and run for office after 1 month’s
residence. They can run as a GOP candidate…just like I said.

This is a slanted article that made it sound like this was done in recently in response to Trump candidates. It wasn’t. It was done in 2017 in response to a Democrat trying to run as a Republican.

And there were still requirements that Ortegus wouldn’t meet before that. Not sure about Starbuck.

I’m not sure the author is for Republicans at all. Sounds like he is trying to cause dissatisfaction within the Tennessee Republican party by publishing half truths.

“It seems a good portion of Republicans hates their own base more than Democrats do.”

These are not Tennessee Republicans. They are Tennessee RINOs. Talk radio in Nashville have been chastising the local GOP action. But they are claiming with the new bill that you have to have lived in TN for 3 years before you can run for office... and I sorta go along with that.... keeps the carpet baggers from state hopping and controlling.

If you mean live in the State of TN for a certain number of years before you
run as a GOP candidate then yes, I guess you would be an insider.
TN GOP wants those running as GOP candidates to develop “roots” for a few years.
What is wrong with that common sense idea?
