If you mean live in the State of TN for a certain number of years before you
run as a GOP candidate then yes, I guess you would be an insider.
TN GOP wants those running as GOP candidates to develop “roots” for a few years.
What is wrong with that common sense idea?

All they have to do is meet the reasonable requirements everyone is held to. You don’t need to be an insider.

Many comments here seem to say that a political party has no right to screen its own candidates. Living in and voting in the state is perfectly reasonable and keeps out riff raff.

We don’t get to change the rules because we like a particular candidate.
