The author didn’t place the B for billion in the offered price.

If only he had some billionaire friends who would buy up another 30%, then he’d control the board, at least until he took it private and fired them all.

I think he means that there would be no twitter board
They are hoping and scrambling for a white night to buy them out instead

"Board salary will be $0 if my bid succeeds, so that’s ~$3M/year saved right there," Musk tweeted. That’s going to leave a mark.

I think $7.25/hour is still the federal minimum wage.
I think $18/hour is the minimum wage in California.
The board will still be overpaid.

I expect that the left will rally enough resources to fight off Musk’s attempt to take over. The left wants no part of free speech anywhere.
My guess is Musk will take his money, and in the process ruin twitter. That’s not a bad outcome.

I wonder if he has a censor-delete plan yet? It won’t be easy, as they will scatter like cockroaches when the kitchen light is turned on at Midnight.

And I was just about to run for a Twitter board seat. Oh, well. On to my backup plan: get a job as a Walmart greeter.

I think the board members must be paid a dollar per meeting, plus expenses according to most corporate by laws and state/federal taxes.

Elon Musk Twitter bid has some employees excited, some nervous: Tech expert Billionaire Elon Musk would cut the salaries of Twitter's board of directors to zero if his ongoing attempt to purchase the company succeeds, Musk announced Monday.
Beautiful.

Elon Musk would eliminate salaries for Twitter's board if buyout succeeds
Elon knows that there are no real board members working to lead the company towards a bright(er) future.
The board members that exist, are there for one purpose only, and that is to advance the progressive agenda. The board members are working for the democrat party. Any interference with their work, will be dealt with as a threat to the power of the democrat party. Which is exactly how the left has reacted to the offer for purchase by Musk. They call it a 'threat to democracy' if Musk buys the company, but in reality, it's a threat to the democrats' power over social media.

Well, the “board” in this case is totally expendable.
Good first step.

“Economies....”
Musk is striking a “Trumpy Bear” pose. I want a Trumpy Bear. It’s a grizzly bear of course, and adorable with it’s orange hair and eyebrows, blue eyes, and America First tie. Pricey, but I really want one. And it has an American Flag throw zipped inside of it. Maybe one will drop into my lap from the sky (I wish).

I’ve always believed that members sitting on organizations’ boards shouldn’t be paid. I consider it a civic volunteer position. It seems like those positions usually are given to already-wealthy grifters, and possibly a way to launder money and/or buy favor. (I could be wrong.)
