Paramount+ has provided the following synopsis:
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The all-new series will feature fan favorites from season two of Star Trek: Discovery, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

Picard was OK, Discovery better. Will give this one a try.
I suppose it would be ignorant, 'politically incorrect' and rude
of me to pose the following question:
"Can/could 'trans' tribbles reproduce and the astronomically rapid
rate that 'normal' tribbles do? Or even reproduce at all?"
Which also begs the question:
"Are tribbles that do NOT copulate and reproduce like bunny rabbits
on speed actually a tribbles at all?"
Eh?
Hope you enjoy it. Personally I’m done with outer space movies.
Kirk is coming in season 2. If they get my childhood hero wrong, they must die.
The remastering they did on the original series, and seeing it on a modern TV, really exposes the cardboard, paper mache, and wood that most of the sets and props were made of. But even knowing that, it doesn’t bother me and I’d still rather watch those episodes than 99% of what is produced today. Because the stories were good, the outdated effects don’t matter.
I love old ‘50s sci-if movies, too, but more along the lines of finding those gems that are so bad they’re good. However, one movie I had never seen more than a few minutes of was Earth versus the Flying Saucers. I didn’t expect much from it, but was surprised at how good it actually was. The story was well-done.
Lol. I agree 💯
TOS had the best soundtrack IMO.
🤣 I am leery of Spock in discovery. I feel likewise there.
Rebecca Romijn? I’m in!
That’s because Star Trek( the only one) is a space western.l
Wow, Ethan Peck (playing Spock) is Gregory Peck’s grandson!
Rebecca Romijn’s name sounded familiar. Looked her up and she was on The Librarians, which is what I know her from. She was once married to John Stamos (Full House) and is now married to Jerry O’Connell (Sliders).
I just might check this one out.
Plus, she was the naked blue chick in the three X-MEN movies (That's where I know her from, and always my first thought when I see her name.)
Now, 'naked blue chick' >>>>>>>>> long mental leap >>>>>>>>> first officer of Enterprise.
All I want to know is how short will the female crew’s skirts will be?
Did they ever make a second to Prometheus?
Just watched that one and wondered if there was a follow up where she gets to the engineers planet.
Agree.
Anything beyond DS9 becomes increasingly worse as time goes on. (Not that every episode in TOS, TNG, and DS9 was sublime, but...)
Yep.
Different actress.
Thanks for posting this.
Yep, I couldn’t stand Discovery. Too much woke crap that did nothing for the story.
It does seem to have the frontier edge that TOS had.
