Brandon wouldn’t do anything other than more sanctions. But it would definitely isolate Russia in a deep deep freeze.

If there would be nuclear weapon it is not going to detonate in Ukraine.

Moor also wrote around the same time in a separate tweet: ‘With the tragedy and destruction unfolding so distressingly in Ukraine, we should remember the values and hard-won freedoms that distinguish us from Putin, none more than LGBT+ rights

Is he trying to make Putin look good or bad?

Russia doesn’t have to attack Kiev

I like it: a “mostly peaceful” invasion. Bless their hearts.

MAD, in context, was used to describe what the West would do if the Ukraine were nuked....Obviously, the Ukraine would and could do nothing.

> Encirclement and starvation is far more crushing than rolling down streets and shooting up buildings. <

True that. But in 1945 Stalin chose to take Berlin street by street rather than encircle the city, and starve it out. I get that this is not an exact parallel. But dictators sometimes get impatient. So who knows what Putin will do?

Putin thought the Ukrainians would runaway

Or just run out of ammo. Putin thought the west was weak and divided and would abandon Ukraine again. Brandon and Germany tried his best to but the small nations of Europe lead the free world and dragged the Germany/US along.

PUitn thought it was 2014 all over again. Sucks to be him right now. His plan is FUBAR and there are 40 million PO’d Ukrainians now who will happily kick his invaders out. He’s even lost the eastern cities Ukraine. Those cities are basically Russia in all but name. Just mind boggling.

Russia is used to long protracted conflicts. Like an anaconda encompassing its prey Russia can slowly make Ukraine submit.

If Putin did choose to take the slow route no one is going to do squat about it. MSM will eventually tire of it and move on.

“Russia doesn’t have to attack Kiev. Encirclement and starvation is far more crushing than rolling down streets and shooting up buildings.”

Millions of Russians have friends and loved ones in Kiev. Armies would mutiny or a general would put a bullet in Putin’s head long before the first Ukrainian starved.

Let me catch you up on some news:

Germany alone is sending ONE THOUSAND ATGM and FIVE HUNDRED MANPADS to destroy Russian invaders. Near every other country in Europe is rushing armaments to Ukraine.

No amount of fantasizing will wish Putin to victory now. He has lost.

If you really care about the MAGA movement and America first you will drop this neo isolationist advocacy. Trump is getting hammered now for his nonsensical “Putin is a genuins” comment. All Putinist chatter is highly damaging to him.

Putin doesn’t have the time. Too many weapons are pouring in and the Russians aren’t all they (or we) thought they were.

500 russian tanks and APCs are converging on Kiev now. Putin is panicking and this will get ugly.

Some people haven’t read the news today, apparently. Reports out of Ukraine tonight that the eastern cities have held. That’s basically Russia and Putin has lost them. Probably because the crazies he installed in his fairy tale Donbas republics.

Brandon doesn’t have to do anything. Near every country is rushing arms to Ukraine and there are 40 million hoping mad Ukrainians itches to push the invaders out of their country.

I’ve summarized it as this:

The Russians thought Putin was leading them in a rise of Russian nationalism. Putin thought they wanted him to lead them in a rise of Soviet nationalism and return to the way things were. Neither was correct.

The GDP of every former satellite of the USSR that has allied with Europe has improved. Life has improved. Nobody is rushing back to join the Soviet Union.

The Ukranians want no part of returning to the fold of the Soviets.

I have said that Europe may have found their gonads in Ukraine. I hope the accounts of resistance are not just made up propaganda.

Remember a scene from the mini series Chernobyl. Head of KGB told the scientist. Yes, we are watching you and they ( other KGB agent) are watching me.

I’d like to take this time to thank you and lodi for keeping a level head here. Some of the people on this forum have gone off the deep end and are driven bat-shit crazy that their boy Pooty has lost the plot.

Moor sounded plenty smart until right there. Stopped me from reading any more.

Seriously. Something tells me that the Ukrainians are not fighting for the right to sodomize each other.
