Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are set to be crowned side by side during a scaled-back coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey according to a Royal source.
The Duke of Rothesay's trimmed-down Royal service is planned to be much cheaper than his mother's coronation in 1953.
The news comes after it was revealed that it is the Queen's “sincere wish” that Camilla is crowned as Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne - the last time the honour was bestowed was in 1937 when the Queen's mother sat alongside King George VI.

Well, you make good points...but modern Christian practice has realized beheading your wife for not producing an heir is not consistent with Biblical standards.
The diversity tolerated by Christianity is good...but without lawful restraints on immigration, the UK may very become majority Muslim and then freedom to practice religion may very well disappear.

I wouldn’t mind it. At least a king or a queen is acting in what they believe to be the best interest of their country. A parliamentary monarchy might just be superior to the kleptocracy we currently have.

I think that’s the first picture I’ve ever seen of Charles without his hand in his coat side pocket...LOL

I always felt bad for Charles having to look at Camilla every day.
Now I feel bad for her.

There’s no shortage of corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in our govt either. It’s devolving into an oligarchy. It just gets worse.

I was in England when Charles was invested Prince of Wales.. I think he was 16 at the time. It was a big event on TV.
I remember when Elizabeth put the crown on his head you could read his lips saying 'thanks mom.'

Yes, she’s 96. That being said, plans for what to do when she passes have been ongoing for DECADES. It has nothing to do with how I live my life, but I’ve researched in it a lot. It’s fascinating, in a sick sort of way.

Me too! The last time a senior was crowned was Victoria's uncle William IV. He was 65 when crowned in 1830 and lived 7 years dying in 1837.
Because his brother, George IV was so widely despised, William IV was like a breath of fresh air and was generally loved. He was the last of the Hanover dynasty.

I noticed that also. Yes, “planning ahead” is reasonable and prudent, especially when the actual date is uncertain but its probability is certain. Still , without her resignation letter in hand, it is bit macabre in tone.
