"The station in the city of Kaub, a bottleneck for shipping where the Rhine runs narrow and shallow, recorded the water level at 38 cm (14.9 inches)"

That is NOT a river- It is not even a creek, it is more like a gutter.

Back for a few days, then an extended period of absence as I go visit a grandchild that I haven’t seen in over a year.

Things were relative calm over the weekend

Globalism / Great Reset -

France’s Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, announced that he aims to hire thousands of ‘green police’ officers to investigate environmental crimes and enforce environmental laws and regulations.
“We have decided to massively reinforce the resources of the Central Office for the Fight against Damage to the Environment and to launch 3,000 ‘green police’ posts,” he continued. “The objective is that, in each gendarmerie brigade, there are gendarmes trained in attacks on ecology.”

OBSERVATION - Another step towards totalitarianism at eventually a global level.

An Australian bank plans to stop giving loans for new diesel and gasoline cars as the country tries to encourage the use of electric vehicles and catch up with other developed countries.
In a statement Friday, Bank Australia said it would scrap loans for new fossil fuel vehicles from 2025. Sasha Courville, its chief impact officer, said that date had been picked “because the change to electric vehicles needs to happen quickly.”

OBSERVATION - Just another notch, expect the same here soon.

Wuhan virus -

A federal judge in Florida ordered class action relief and granted a classwide preliminary injunction Wednesday against the federal government’s COVID shot mandate for all U.S. Marines whether they are active or in reserve service.

OBSERVATION - Sadly, much damage has already been done to our military. Too many who’ve received the jab - technically illegal since the military didn’t use the nonexistent FDA approved formula but the EUA version - are suffering from the post jab effects hammering the non military community - heart conditions, incased cancers, etc. Further, military pushing for jabs are not following current CDC guidances.

Economy -

97% of US executives believe US is now in a recession or close to one. A survey conducted by Stifel Financial shows that 18 percent of executives, business owners, and investors consider the economy already in a recession, compared to 79 percent of them expecting a downturn within the next 18 months. Only three percent of executives believe the U.S. could completely avoid a recession over the same time frame.

In related - The National Association of Business Economists (NABE) Economic Policy Survey finds that approximately 67% of respondents believe a recession has already or will begin by the first quarter of 2023. Over half of all panelists agree that current fiscal policy is “too stimulative,” and 73% say that the Fed will be unable to reduce inflation to 2% without inducing a recession over the next two years. (FO)

OBSERVATION - We’ll soon see if the other shoe drops when the next GDP and inflation numbers come out. But since these people are on the ground having to deal with the situation, seems they have a better feel for what actual conditions are versus those in the ivory tower of the Fed.

July marked the first decline to beef prices since June of 2021. During the first week of August, beef prices fell another 0.7% Analysts vary on what to attribute this to. Some say more workers, others say this summer’s sell off of cattle due to excessive prices for feed, fuel, etc.

Biden / Harris watch -

According to the White House, biden will remain on summer vacation until Wednesday.

A whopping 74% of Americans say the United States is on the wrong track in a new NBC News poll conducted earlier this month. In total, the poll found, 55 percent of Americans now disapprove of the job the president is doing, while just 42 percent appr

CW2/Domestic violence -

Boxing world champion Tyson Fury called on the British government to clamp down harder on knife crime after his cousin was stabbed to death in what police called a “senseless” and “unplanned” attack.
In a social media post on Sunday, Fury called the scale of deaths caused by knives as a “pandemic” as he paid tribute to Rico Burton.

OBSERVATION - Why is this here? Because the extreme gun control measures Britain has have literally transitioned criminals to use knives - at one time the mayor of London called for ‘knife control’. Gun control is a ruse - I think we here at FR recognize that. Murders will continue to use what ever is at hand, be it guns, knives, vehicles or pressures cookers.

Firefighters in Seattle have demanded the city take action after they were subjected to more than 40 violent attacks in the past four months - a string of assaults that have been largely carried out by the city’s homeless population.
The attacks, which the city’s firefighter’s union says began in May, have seen the protectors repeatedly targeted by the intemperate down-and-outs, often while responding to fires started at the city’s growing number of homeless encampments.

OBSERVATION - The homeless component will be a nasty element if a CW2 becomes spicy. Egged on by Antifa ‘friends’, they could easily become the left’s cannon fodder in cities that are already Antifa controlled.

Soros-backed Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins issued an official statement on Wednesday threatening Americans who are against the genital mutilation of children.

OBSERVATION - This fight is only just begun. The trans agenda has called in its chips in the law fare that is beginning. So much so that the LGB community is starting to remove the “T”.

Strategic Activity / Deployments -

A squadron of US Air Force B-52 bombers arrived in the United Kingdom as part of the US/NATO bomber taskforce based in Europe. The bomber squadron immediately began a series of exercises in Sweden.

OBSERVATION - Show of force directed toward Russia,

China -

Heat and drought is hitting Chinese production in a manner nearly as big as wuhan. In Sichuan, a regional manufacturing powerhouse that is home to more than 80 million people, the record heat wave has exacerbated an ongoing drought, cutting water levels at hydropower reservoirs in half this month, according to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economics and Information Technology.

OBSERVATION - Chinese economic woes will continue to weigh heavily on Xi and any decision to pull the trigger and attempt any invasion of Taiwan.

China continues to send varying numbers of planes into Taiwans ADZ, prompting responses.

North/South Korea -

NUKE WATCH on going.

The United States and South Korea began their biggest combined military training in years Monday as they heighten their defense posture against the growing North Korean nuclear threats. The exercises were cancelled by Trump during his diplomatic outreach to Kim.

Japan -

Japan is considering the deployment of 1,000 long-range cruise missiles to boost its counterattack capability against China, the Yomiuri newspaper reported on Sunday (Aug 21).
The missiles would be existing arms modified to extend their range from 100km to 1,000km, the daily said, citing government sources.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia is now entering its seventh month of fighting since starting on Feb 24th.

CURRENT ASSESSMENT - Russia now essentially controls Luhansk Oblast, Russian forces have modified their immediate goals to try to capture Bakhmut and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. Russia is also working to redeploy forces to face an anticipated Ukraninan offensive to retake Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts

********
Daria Dugina, the daughter of Russian philosopher Aleksandr Dugin, was killed in an assassination attempt that appears to have targeted her father. The two had switched cars for the last leg of their trip, drawing many to assume he was the intended victim of the exploding vehicle.

OBSERVATION - Russians have been quick to blame Ukraine for the attack as the elder Dugin is attributed as providing Putin the philosophical foundation for his global goals. However, on the radar screen as well are those how thing that Russian factions may be involved, disgruntled by the war and putin’s policies. This anti-Putin Russian nationalist group group calling themselves the National Republican Army who are taking responsibility for the car bomb that killed Alexander Dugin’s daughter.

Putin has said UN officials will be granted permission to visit and inspect the Zaporizhzhia nuclear complex. The Kremlin made the announcement after a call between Mr Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.

OBSERVATION - Russia has come under increasing pressure regarding how it is handling the situation at the power plant, especially when photos came out this weekend showing Russian logistics vehicles parked in the reactor rooms. Any kind of serious damage to the facility could create a Chernobyl like situation with widespread airborne radiation and possible destruction of the groundwater and pollution to the Dinpir River.

Russian Personnel Issues -
- Western officials say between 70,000 and 80,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded since it launched its invasion six months ago.
- Efforts continue to entice men to sign up for the military. In order to attract fresh recruits, the authorities are offering volunteers huge sums of money, plots of land and even premium places for their children in Russian schools. Recruiters have even been visiting Russian prisons to sign up inmates, promising them freedom and money.

Ukraine -

WEATHER FORECAST - Hot with widely scattered thunderstorms over parts of the 10 day forecast period

24 HOUR ROUND UP -
Remarkably, the tactical situation on the ground is very much unchanged from my last post. Various OSINT analysts are reviewing current Russian operations and have come to the conclusion that Russian forces’ momentum from territorial gains around Bakhmut & Avdiivka in late July are likely exhausted, and Russian attacks in eastern Ukraine are likely culminating although very small Russian advances will likely continue.

NATO has been assisting in the training of Ukrainian volunteers that joined the military after the invasion. Even with losses from six months of fighting, there are still nearly 700,000 of these volunteers. Most require training before they are up to the standards required for a successful offensive to push the remaining (under Russian forces out. The level of training being received far outstrips that given to Russian conscripts.

Ukrainan special operations / Partisan continue to raise havoc in Crimea and other Russian occupied territories. They were famous in WW2 and that edge is now rising to the forefront in this war.

Kyiv front ——
NSR except that public events prohibited starting 22th August to 25th August in Kyiv due to the missile attack threat - peeriod marks Ukranian independence celebrations.

Northern (Chernihv region ) and North Eastern (Konotop - Sumy salient) Fronts - ——
NSR, except for scattered Russian artillery strikes on border city/villages. …..

Eastern (Kharkiv) front -
Kharkiv is hit with more missiles and rockets overnight.

Another failed attempt by Russian forces to push south out of the Izyum axis.

Donetsk Oblast ——
Russian scattered artillery fire hit the eastern margin of the Slovyansk-Siversk-Bakhmut salient.

Russian forces continue to press attacks to the north and south of Bakhumt seeing minor success.

Continued Russian artillery northwest of Donetsk

Crimean Front ——
Russian forces have partial success in assault on Blahodatne, north of Kherson. More artillery fire widely distributed over the Kherson LOC. Most likely a preemptive attack.

Heavy missile and artillery strikes on Mykolaiv.

Air defenses in the Crimean city of Sevastopol were active, claiming it shot down somethgn that was targeting an airbase.

Western / Central Ukraine ——
NSR

Russian Territory -—
NSR

Partisan Resistance ——
Russia has instituted checkpoints surrounding Sebastanipol, Crimea in responst to attacks on logistic dumps and command facilities. Over the weekend a drone got thru Russian ADA fire and hit the CP of the Black Sea fleet, causing minor damage.

Ammunition / logistical sites hit —
Explosions reported at ammunition depot in Donetsk yesterday
Ukraine’s military said it destroyed two Russian ammunition depots in the villages of Chornobaivka in Kherson and Starytsia in Kharkiv.

OUTLOOK ——
Russia will continue to struggle to regain the unitive in the east continuing to keep pressure up on Bakhmut mostly to try to freeze Ukraine forces that could be shifted to the west for the still impending Kherson offensive.

Still a lot of Russian artillery, but volume/intensity appears to be substantially down. This is not helping in the east where they have to rely heavilyy on it to advance their offensive.

Expect to see more sabotage in Russian controlled regions - Ukraine is just getting ramped up. This will further weaken Russian defenses in Kherson oblast as more troops are needed to pull security. Actions in Crimea will continue to give Russia a black eye domestically. Watching for a potential aggressive action by Russia this Wednesday as Ukraine celebrates it independence. A wide range of provocations are expected.

SERBIA - KOSOVO (new) -

Ethnic Serbs working in Kosovo will leave their jobs unless a deal is reached to end their “persecution,” Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warned on Sunday.
In a fiery TV address after meeting Kosovo Serbs, Vucic called on NATO peacekeepers to “do their job” or Belgrade would move to protect the Serb minority in the breakaway province. The comments follow the collapse of political talks between Serbian and Kosovo leaders earlier this week, mediated by the European Union in Brussels.

OBSERVATION - Serbia continues to keep tensions high - sensing distraction of NATO on Ukraine and with a little nudge from Russia. Refresher - this started when Kosovo authorities said they would require local Serbs to switch their car number plates from Serbian to Kosovan ones. Serbia has enforced a similar policy on Kosovo citizens over the past 10 years. Minority Serbs in Kosovo reacted with anger to the plans, putting up roadblocks, sounding air raid sirens and firing guns into the air and in the direction of Kosovo police officers.
Serbs have the willingness and military capable of restarting the war, but risk NATO Article 5 response. That appears to be about the only thing currently holding them back.

Pakistan -

Pakistan’s police have charged the country’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, under anti-terror laws. Their investigation comes after he accused the police and judiciary of detaining and torturing a close aide. Mr Khan’s supporters gathered outside his house vowing to “take over” if he was arrested. However, he has now been granted pre-arrest bail until Thursday.

OBSERVATION - Pakistan stands of the verge of a civil conflict. Khan has a lot of supporters as well as detractors after he ran the country economically into the ground as PM. What is scary, a third world nuclear power in a civil war.

Iran -

US President Joe Biden held a phone call Sunday with the leaders of France, Germany and the UK to discuss the Iran nuclear deal negotiations, as talks between Tehran and world powers appeared to advance. OBSERVATION - Word coming out is that the US and Europe is giving Iran everything and the kitchen sink.

Soros-backed Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins issued an official statement on Wednesday threatening Americans who are against the genital mutilation of children.

This is waaaaaaay beyond sexual kink choice - it walks into pure evil.. Choices made by children that can't be undone in a lifetime. Parents who allow this should be charged with child abuse. The gay community is right to walk away... you don't do this to kids.

Coffee, need more coffee. . . . .

Globalism / Great Reset -

A lot of noise regarding a WEF program to get people to have computer chips implanted in their bodies. Efforts quite clearly are designed to desensitize the sheeple to the idea.

With the recent passage of the costly, yet deceptively named, Inflation Reduction Act in the Senate, the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) movement will be further emboldened. The IRA prioritizes funding for environmental justice, clean energy investments, and achieving net zero emissions, among its climate provisions. The bill’s passage, however, exposes the public to its shortcomings and harmful economic footprint.

Scores correspond to each of the three prongs—ESG—but the “E” prong measuring an individual country’s carbon and methane emissions doesn’t paint an accurate picture. The World Economics Index scores environmental impact from 0 (high environmental impact) to 100 (low environmental impact) scale.
Unfortunately for ESG boosters, high “E” scores haven’t shielded three nations in the news—Ghana, the Netherlands, and Sri Lanka—from experiencing economic turmoil.

OBSERVATION - I’m convinced that economic turmoil is exactly what the GGR / WEF want. It is the tool they intend to use to finally bring the world under their control - or at least what’s left of the world. How else will they get to their “reset”. ESG also beings with it controlling measures of the sheeple. Don’t toe the party line, no soup for you.

Yesterday, I noted an Australia bank will no longer make loans to individuals wanting to buy new vehicles powered by conventional gas/diesel. I noted how this is coming to America. Well its here and I didn’t make the link yesterday. Blackrock is using its multi trillions to force corporations towards the net zero concept. They pressure companies to comply with international agreements such as the Paris Agreement that force the phase-out of fossil fuels, increase and energy prices. Blackrock is currently being sued by many states for mishandling citizens investments causing loss as well as discriminatory practices.

Wuhan virus -

Yesterday Dr. Fauci released a statement announcing that he would step down from his NIAID and White House positions in December. Some observe that it is apparent that he must believe that Republicans will capture one or both houses in congress and wants to jump ship while the jumping is good.

The World Health Organization’s Maria Van Kerkhove said millions have died from COVID-19 since the start of this scamdemic and 15,000 are still dying each week. She also warns that new variants are going to be popping up in the coming days.
“I know we are tired, but when did this become acceptable?” she questions about the number of people dying. It seems perfectly acceptable for them to die or be severely injured by the vaccine, but not by a virus. “Future variants will be more transmissible, may have further immune escape but we do not know if they will be more or less severe,” she added.

OBSERVATION - All about control, and they are losing that control along with the narrative. Monkey pox isn’t filling the vacuum.

Economy -

Wall Street tumbled over 600 points on Monday as investors fretted about a U.S. Federal Reserve gathering later this week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, that is expected to reinforce a strong commitment by the central bank to stamp out inflation.
“Powell is going to try to sound hawkish to tamp down inflationary expectations and tighten financial conditions. So that’s most likely going to be a negative catalyst for the market,” warned Jay Hatfield, chief investment officer at Infrastructure Capital Management in New York.
The Fed will probably raise interest rates by 50 basis points in September, according to economists polled by Reuters.

OBSERVATION - Already the fed has jacked the rates up far more than they were talking about doing over a year ago. What has the markets concerned is that the Fed will over react and force the country into a deeper recession or even a depression with too high of rates while the economy is still trying to stabilize out following the wuhan lockdown dumpster fire.

U.S. crude inventory in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell by 8.1 million barrels in the latest week to the lowest level in more than 35 years, according to data from the Department of Energy.
Stockpiles in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell to 453.1 million barrels in the week to Aug. 19, according to the data. The 8.1 million-barrel draw was the largest since the end of April and brought inventory to the lowest level since January 1985.

OBSERVATION - What better way to weaken ourselves in the event of a major situation (conflict or disaster) than to strip ourselves of our petroleum reserves. One more way biden is trying to kill the petroleum industry. Oh and don’t count of any further purchases.

Invasion of Illegals -

The Pentagon has denied a second request by Washington DC’s mayor to help receive migrants arriving from Republican-led states Texas and Arizona.

OBSERVATION - Sanctuary city - be careful of what you declare yourself to be.

POLITICAL FRONT -

According to memos obtained by Just the News, the Biden White House worked directly with the Justice Department and National Archives to launch the criminal investigation into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and deny Trump’s claims of executive privilege.
The memos show then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su was engaged in conversations with the FBI, DOJ and National Archives as early as April, shortly after 15 boxes of classified and other materials were voluntarily returned to the federal historical agency from Trump’s Florida home.
By May, Su conveyed to the Archives that President Joe Biden would not object to waiving his predecessor’s claims to executive claims, a decision that opened the door for DOJ to get a grand jury to issue a subpoena compelling Trump to turn over any remaining materials he possessed from his presidency.

OBSERVATION - We knew all along biden WH was up to their necks in this action.

Strategic Activity / Deployments -

The George H. W. Bush Carrier Strike Group has entered the 6th Fleet area of responsibility en route to relieve the Harry S. Truman CSG in the Mediterranean Sea.

China -

In the first week of August the Chinese Space Plane completed its second successful launch and is still in orbit. The first flight took place in early September 2020. China has yet to release any photos of what they call a reusable test spacecraft. There were satellite photos of the Chinese space plane after landing that showed a space plane similar in size to the American X-37B.

OBSERVATION - China continues to adapt US designs for its own purpose, short cutting years of research.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia is now entering its seventh month of fighting since starting on Feb 24th.

********
Russia is claiming that a Ukrainian citizen, Natalia Vovk, carried out the attack that killed the daughter of top Putin ally Alexander Dugin on Mondaybefore fleeing the country to Estonia. Russia has produced an Azoz battalion ID claiming to have belonged to her. (FYI It is a poorly photoshopped document instantly torn apart by online OSINT analysts)

Ukraine -

WEATHER FORECAST - Hot with widely scattered thunderstorms over parts of the 10 day forecast period

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is warning of a “particularly nasty” Russian attack this week ahead of Ukraine’s 31st independence day on Aug. 24. Russian forces have positioned more cruise-missile bearing warships in the Black Sea and rumors of other Russian forces in Belarus.
“We have information that Russia is stepping up efforts to launch strikes against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and government facilities in the coming days,” according to a US official said, to Reuters.

US Embassy in Kyiv issues a new alert “The Dept of State has information that Russia is stepping up efforts to launch strikes against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and government facilities in the coming days.”

OBSERVATION - Much of Russia’s artillery and missile campaign has been directed in one way or another against civilian targets. It would not be surprising if Russia launched a massive missile attack on Kyiv on the 24th.

24 HOUR ROUND UP -
Some pick up Russian ground attacks with some minor successes. Most significant are teh warnings of a Russian action on ore about Aug 24th.

Kyiv front ——
Active electronic warfare measures are reportedly being actively used in border districts with Belarus.

Increased warnings of Russian intent to strike civilian targets during the Ukranian Independence Day remembrances. _SEE US embassy warning above.

Northern (Chernihv region ) and North Eastern (Konotop - Sumy salient) Fronts - ——
NSR, except for scattered Russian artillery strikes on border city/villages.

Eastern (Kharkiv) front - Kharkiv is hit with more missiles and rockets overnight. Artillery and air strikes throughout the sector.

Russian forces conducted limited ground attacks southwest and southeast of Izyum near the Kharkiv-Donetsk Oblast border

Donetsk Oblast ——
Russian scattered artillery fire hit the eastern margin of the Slovyansk-Siversk-Bakhmut salient.

Russian forces continue to press attacks to the north and south of Bakhumt seeing minor success.

Russian forces continued ground attacks near the northern and western outskirts of Donetsk City on August 22. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian troops attempted to advance on Avdiivka from Novoselivka Druha and Krasnohorivka—both less than 10 km north of Avdiivka.

Scattered artillery and minor Russian ground forces attacks from Donetsk region westward into Zaporizka Oblast

Crimean Front ——
Russia intensified artillery and air strikes along the Kherson Oblast LOC. Mykolaiv region suffered under more Russian missiles attacks.

Ukrainian forces again struck the Antonivsky road bridge as a Russian convoy was transporting ammunition across the bridge. Images and footage of large fires on the Antonivsky road bridge are consistent with claims that Ukrainian strikes targeted explosives on the bridge.

Western / Central Ukraine ——
NSR

Russian Territory -—
Explosion reported at Mayskiy district of Belgorod, the result of failed missile launch.

Partisan Resistance ——
Ukrainian civilians attacked a Russian soldier in occupied Melitopol overnight on August 21-22.

Ammunition / logistical sites hit —
Huge explosions near Starobesheve, Donetsk. It looks like Ukraine just blew up a huge, well known base belonging to the separatist Slavyanskaya brigade. Facility has been ID’d for years now.

Ammo dump hit at Komsomolskoe, SE of Donetsk

OUTLOOK ——
Russia is facing a meat grinder like in the early phases of the war. This has enabled Ukraine to increasingly utilize the ATGM tactics successfully used in the defense of Kyiv. Russian ground attacks are spread out and poorly coordinated laterally.

Ukraine strikes via HIMARS continues to degrade Russian combat capabilities. This essentially forces major logistical points to relocate over 100 km from the front. This will continue to place an even greater burden on russian logistics. Add to this special ops / partisans strikes on deeper targets, well supporting the Russian artillery’s hunger for ammo becomes exponentially more difficult.

I don’t see any significant changes in the current status of the war for the near future.

Israel -

In a phonecall yesterday, Israel PM Lapid to French PM Macron: “Israel will not be bound by nuclear deal with Iran”

Lebanon -

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Monday warned Lebanon’s Hezbollah that any attack on its gas assets could spark war, after the terror group threatened to “sever” Israel’s hands if it taps a disputed offshore field.
The warning came amid lengthy negotiations between the eastern Mediterranean neighbors, which do not have diplomatic relations, to settle a dispute over their maritime border.

OBSERVATION - I think Hezbollah is only spewing rhetoric at this stage. Israel’s recent attacks against PIJ show it is willing to preemptively strike terror targets, and you can bet your bars that the mossad with the help of disenchanted Lebanese, have Hezbollah’s infrastructure and storage sites pretty well mapped out.

Syria -

US “is deeply concerned about recent attacks along Syria’s northern border and urges all parties to maintain ceasefire lines,” says State Dept.

OBSERVATION - Addressing the potential for increased fighting by Turkish forces against the Kurds and syrian backed groups. Not currently at a high level from what Ive noted, but has strong potential given Turkish aggressiveness lately.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan -

Heavy fighting underway between Taliban soldiers and Pakistani military forces in Tarkhoabay in Dand-E Patan in Paktia. Not clear what led to the clashes on the Durrand Line.

A little frazzled this morning. Hopefully tomorrow I can get any loose ends tied up.

Economy -

The following comes from CNBC…
“Meanwhile, 50% of firms are anticipating a reduction in overall headcount, while 52% foresee instituting a hiring freeze and 44% rescinding job offers, according to a PwC survey of 722 U.S. executives fielded in early August.”

OBSERVATION - Contrary to the biden admin narrative, businesses are positioning themselves now for a recession. In fact, total estimate numbers to be laid off are beginning to rival those numbers of the wuhan shutdown.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia is now entering its seventh month of fighting since starting on Feb 24th.

********

Russian Defense minister Shoigu at meeting of Defense ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation says that operation in Ukraine is ongoing according to the plan, low pace of operation is also according to the plan “to avoid casualties”,

RUMINT -
Unverifiable sources reported that axis commanders in Ukraine are reporting directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin, bypassing both the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov in the chain of command.

Russian authorities are deploying security forces to Luhansk Oblast likely in response to waning support for the war and growing unwillingness to fight among Luhansk residents.

Ukraine -

WEATHER FORECAST - Hot with widely scattered thunderstorms over parts of the 10 day forecast period

24 HOUR ROUND UP -
Ukraine celebrates independence day today, with tensions high over potential Russian actions against civilian targets.

Kyiv front ——
NSR

Northern (Chernihv region ) and North Eastern (Konotop - Sumy salient) Fronts - ——
NSR, except for scattered Russian artillery strikes on border city/villages.

Eastern (Kharkiv) front - Kharkiv is hit with more missiles and the country side to its north east hit by scattered artillery fire.

Russian artillery in support of a reconnanance in force operation south of Izyum.

Donetsk Oblast ——
Russian scattered artillery fire hit the eastern margin of the Slovyansk-Siversk-Bakhmut salient.
Russian forces continued to press their attacks north and south of Bakhumt
.
Crimean Front ——
Russian artillery fired along the Kherson Oblast LOC.

Reports that the Russian navy has about 10 vessels patrolling the western coast, none ranging very far off shore for fear of Ukraine Anti-ship systems.

Western / Central Ukraine ——
Missile strike warnings and sirens throughout the country over night.
Russian army launched 2 Kh-22 missiles of Dniprovsky district of Dnipropetrovsk region.
4 Russian missiles struck targets in Myrhorod.
Explosions as result of missile strikes reported near Dnipro city.
More explosions from Russian missiles reported in Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian Territory -—
NSR

Partisan Resistance ——
Head of occupation authorities of Mykhailivka town of Zaporizhzhia region Ivan Sushko was killed in car explosion
Ukrainian partisans attempted to assassinate the Russian-appointed Kherson Oblast Deputy Head of the Internal Policy Department Igor Telegin with an improvised explosive device (IED) on August 23.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on August 20 that Ukrainians poisoned Russian forces and occupation official Volodymyr Saldo.

Ammunition / logistical sites hit —
Ukrainian forces are reported to have struck a Russian ammo dump in occupied Tokmak (Zaporizhzhia region).
Explosions were audible in Kakhovka district, east of Kherson, from a suspected strike on a Russian logistics site
Suspected logistics site hit near Horlivka, northeast of Donetsk.
Ammunition exploding near Timonovo village of Belgorod region due to “hot weather”, according to authorities

OUTLOOK ——
More of the same. Russia will continue to press attacks around Bakhmut and northeast of Donetsk while attempting to pin down and preempt Ukrainan attacks in the west and Kharkiv region using ground attacks and artillery.

Israel -

Israeli army says troops arrested 14 wanted Palestinian during overnight raids in the West Bank, several firearms seized. Raids set off numerous firefights during the operation.

Iran -

See Syria below on US hitting Iranian backed militias

Iraq -

Pro-Sadr demonstrations are on the rise giving rise to speculation that Sadr may be planning something larger.

Syria -

U.S. Central Command says overnight, the U.S. struck targets belonging to groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in Syria’s Deir ez Zor. This comes after Iran retaliated at U.S. targets for Israeli strikes.

OBSERVATION - This could cause the cycle to increase.

Black Swans -
Drought conditions are impacting food production in China, Europe and the US - just for starters - as well as smaller countries. Add to it the factors of war cutting off crops, fertilizer and forced high fuel prices, things are not looking goo thru 2023. A rare, third La Nina weather cycle in a row does not project much hope for things to change much here in the US.
Add to this mix significant flash floods dumping months worth of precipitation in a matter of hours across the globe and you have weather madness. Please, don’t insult our intelligence by calling out ‘climate change’. Its called weather.

OVERALL OBSERVATION - GGR supporting regimes (including biden) are creating police forces to enforce (with lethal means) components of GGR goals - environment and taxes. Unpopular policies / laws backed up by might - not the consent of the governed.

Globalism / Great Reset -

The Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is building a new facility in Winnipeg that will be home to a firearms armoury, interrogation rooms, biological labs, media relations offices, “controlled quiet rooms,” and intelligence facilities.
The plans, which were drawn up by a firm in Winnipeg, open a window into Trudeau’s future plans for Climate Enforcement. Down the hall from the proposed “Firearms Storage” rooms are several evidence rooms, interrogation suites, and adjacent recording rooms.
The Impact Assessment Act (IAA), which was quietly passed in the final days of Trudeau’s majority government, grants sweeping power to Ministerial “Enforcement Officers.” But, until now, little has been explained about where and how Climate Police will be deployed.
The IAA empowers agents of the Ministry of Climate Change to enter premises without a warrant to “verify compliance or prevent non-compliance with [the Act].

In Related - French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin is hiring 3,000 “green police” officers to go after those who violate green-related criminal issues. The announcement comes after the EU crisis management tsar Janez Lenarcic called for the rapid creation of a Europe-wide “Civil Protection Force” to enforce climate laws across the EU.

OBSERVATION - Climate tyranny - who needs ‘interrogation’ rooms or climate police? It should be noted this information was released after agents dispatched by ECCC were accused of trespassing on private land in Saskatchewan to collect Nitrogen samples, the newest target of Trudeau’s climate change agenda. Saskatchewan govt warned the ECC that they may be arrested if they continue to trespass. It is believed the sampling - for nitrogen - is to establish a ‘base line’ for future enforcement actions.
BTW - commentators note that it shouldn’t be lost that Ottawa is constructing this facility in Winnipeg - in the farming intense western half of the country.

California is set to roll out its long-awaited ban on new gasoline cars on Thursday, which is part of its rule to have all new cars sold by 2035 to be electric only in an effort to fight climate change.
Governor Gavin Newsom first announced the ban in 2020 as a means to reduce the amount of smog-induced pollution in the air, which will improve the state’s air quality that is the worst in the US.
The move will also make California the first in the world to mandate zero-emission vehicles on its roads.
Thursday’s launch will require that 35 percent of new passenger vehicles sold in the state by 2026 produce zero emissions, then 68 percent by 2030 and ultimately 100 percent five years after.

OBSERVATION - Just last year kalifornia asked the few owners of EVs NOT to plug them in because of the shortage of electricity. That same scenario may well play out once again this year. The kalifornia grid cannot handle the few EVs they have, let alone millions of new ones. I may try invest in a car dealership in Reno - hot market for new gasoline vehicles in the future.

OTOH, kalifornia will try to impose some sort of law / fee on gasoline/diesel vehicles purchased out of state. They tried that in the 90’s to enforce their ‘smog’ requirements, by charging a fee on non-CA compliant cars. This ‘fee’ was found to be illegal and kalifornia was forced to pay back millions (I was a beneficiary of such a refund). Though likely to be found illegal as well, count on kalifornia to apply the delay tactics to delay / deny out of state sales of new cars. kalifonia may find allies in the car industry as Ford and GM are announcing the conversion of most of their fleets to EVs.

French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the French would face severe food and energy shortages at a cabinet meeting Wednesday as winter approaches and skyrocketing energy prices have crippled Europe’s economy.
Macron told the cabinet that “freedom has a cost,” referring to the ongoing war in Ukraine that has inflicted dire consequences on global food and energy prices, Reuters reported. The French government faces a decision to renew electricity and gas price caps that expire at the end of 2022, as winter looms, inflation soars and natural gas from Russia falls to a trickle, raising fears that Russia will shut off gas flows altogether. “I believe that we are in the process of living through a tipping point or great upheaval. Firstly because we are living through… what could seem like the end of abundance,” Macron said, Barron’s reported.

OBSERVATION - Macron is a GGR/WEF golden child (and thought to be a candidate for the future role of antichrist). He is faming the foundation for the eventual switch over to the GGR as he supervises his country’s economic collapse. If you follow the news, you’ll see the rest of Europe following a similar transjectory. Macron is simply projecting.

Texas banned BlackRock and nine other finance firms from working with the Lone Star state after declaring they were hostile to fossil fuels. “The environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) movement has produced an opaque and perverse system in which some financial companies no longer make decisions in the best interest of their shareholders or their clients, but instead use their financial clout to push a social and political agenda shrouded in secrecy,” Hegar said in a statement.
Texas law put in place by Republicans last year requires the comptroller to prepare and maintain a list of financial companies that boycott energy companies.

OBSERVATION - “Environmental” related goals of the GGR/WEF in news big time today. First a gestapo type of ‘enforcers’ showing up on the radar in Canada and France. Now, as I’ve pointed out before, a financial ‘hammer’ via ESG. Texas’ actions are one small push back as BlackRock et al are deeply entrenched across the country pushing the GGR/WEF agenda on the environment.

And even more climate / GFGR news.
A study from a British university reveals that more than half of young people experience climate anxiety on a daily basis. The UN is calling for climate education to become compulsory in schools from 2025 to better equip children to cope with global warming in the future. Only a handful of countries currently mandate climate studies in their education systems, despite many being signatories to this objective in the Paris Agreement.

Wuhan virus -

In a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) instructed HHS to “preserve all record and information” related to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s tenure as Chief Medical Advisor to the President. The letter reminds HHS that government employees have “legal responsibilities to collect, retain, and preserve all documents, communications,” which also extend to “official and personal [email] accounts or devices, burner phones, including records created using text messages, phone-based message applications, or encryption software.”

OBSERVATION - Necessary, but just what will this do under the present political environment. Regardless of which party holds congress or the presidency, not a single thing will be done and Fauci et al will walk free and living off the taxpayer’s dime.

Economy -

California’s years-long megadrought has left more than 531,000 acres of the state’s farmland unplanted, the US Department of Agriculture has revealed - leading experts to warn that supplies of key crops could become scarce during next year’s harvest.
At-risk crops include wheat, cotton, rice, and alfalfa, officials say, due to dwindling water levels and supplies incurred by the dry spell, which has pressed on for the past three years.
The increase in unplanted land represents a 36 percent hike from this time last year, shortly before California water officials warned citizens to prepare for another dry year after experiencing a significant lack of snow that winter.

OBSERVATION - The forecast La Nina (rare third in a row) indicates that conditions will not improve fo Kalifornia and the southwest. Harvests in the US are stressed this year alone and we could hit a tipping point is drought, along with lack of fertilizer and high energy costs continue into 2023.

Biden is expected to announce a much-anticipated loan forgiveness program Wednesday, sources familiar with the plan told the Associated Press.
Americans are poised to foot a nearly $300 billion deal with President Biden’s expected announcement on Wednesday to forgive thousands in federal student loan debt and extend a repayment pause to next year.
According to the Penn Wharton Budget Model, a one-time maximum debt forgiveness of $10,000 for borrowers who make less than $125,000 will cost around $300 billion for taxpayers.

In related, democrats bark back. “Congress, not the president, is the only body that can cancel student debt”, Pelosi said in July of 2021, arguing that “the president can’t do it.”
“Not everybody realizes that, but the president can only postpone, delay but not forgive” student loans, she added.
The Department of Education came to the same decision, arguing that the executive branch “does not have the statutory authority to cancel, compromise, discharge, or forgive, on a blanket or mass basis, principal balances of student loans, and/or to materially modify the repayment amounts or terms thereof.”

OBSERVATION - Clear pandering $$$ for democrat votes. May give a short term boost to polls, however, biden may be peaking too soon. Even democrats are recognizing the inflationary effects that such cancelations will cause and the 300 billion will totally erase the alleged ‘surplus’ of tax revenue produced by the nefarious ‘inflation reduction’ bill. Cancellation appears to be popular among a narrow range of voters.
Analysts are also indicating that this cancellation will also continue to drive inflationary pressures. How quickly they will come to bear is uncertain at this time, but most likely start being felt by the end of the year and into 2023.

The Federal Reserve’s policy tightening has nudged the US housing market into a slump — and policymakers have yet to fully acknowledge the extent of the trouble, according to a prominent economist.

Ian Shepherdson, a chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, provided a bearish outlook for homeowners after federal data showed sales of new single-family homes hit their lowest level in nearly seven years in July. Sales fell 12.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 511,000, well below consensus expectations.
“The housing market is in much worse shape than the Fed has been willing to admit,” Shepherdson said in a note to clients. “But policymakers have made it clear that inflation is their primary objective, and housing is collateral damage.”

OBSERVATION - Again, housing market is one of those bell weather sectors of the economy. If the opinion of Shepherdson is valid, the housing market will not be the only ‘collateral damage’ done to the economy by the Fed.

And more on the Fed - The Federal Reserve kicks off its Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday, and Fed chairman Jay Powell is expected to repeat his previous outlook: it’s too early to say that inflation has peaked and the Fed has to do more to bring down demand to meet reduced supply. Powell is also expected to announce a slowdown in aggressive rate hikes due to weakening economic conditions

At least 20 million households — or about 1 in 6 American homes — are behind on their power bills as soaring electricity prices spark what is said to be the worst-ever crisis in late utility payments, according to Bloomberg, citing data from the National Energy Assistance Directors Association (Neada). Neada said electricity prices had increased significantly since 2020 after a decade of stagnation. The steep rise has resulted in billions of dollars in overdue power bills.

OBSERVATION - The rampant inflation has boiled down to whether one eats or pays the bills. There are pressures on utilities that make it hard to shut off customers, so I’m guessing that is why its food over utilities. Folks, winter isn’t even here yet.

Executives at Kohl’s say the company has too much inventory due to weaker consumer demand and large purchase orders. The company is paying hundreds of millions of dollars in added expenses and marking down older inventory to clear it out of retail stores and warehouses.

OBSERVATION - I’ve noted that Target and Walmart are facing similar problems. For those with some spare cash lying around, there could be good bargains out there.

Invasion of Illegals -

The final rule unveiled Wednesday is similar to a proposed rule DHS released in 2021. There are some minor changes, such as a clarification that expunged criminal convictions and immigration offenses are not automatic disqualifiers for the program. DHS received 16,361 comments during the rule’s public comment period.
The rule preserves long-standing eligibility requirements for the program. To qualify, immigrants must have arrived in the U.S. by age 16 and before June 2007, must have studied at a U.S. school or served in the military, and must lack a serious criminal record.
The rule also retains the existing process for DACA applicants to seek work authorization and affirms the current policy that DACA is not a form of lawful status but DACA recipients, like other deferred action recipients, are considered “lawfully present.”

OBSERVATION - Rules were meant to be broken by this administration, and they are structuring the rules to be easily broken.

CW2/Domestic violence -

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was ‘SWATTED” at her Georgia home in the early morning hours of Aug 24th. An unknown caller alleged that a male had been shot and that an active shooting situation was ongoing.

OBSERVATION - One can expect SWATTING to rise in the coming months as a tool the left uses to try to intimidate and silence political opposition (and even get the police to shoot/kill them).

POLITICAL FRONT -

More law fare and political wrangling on the MAL front - recommend following appropriate FR threads to keep on top of the situation.

China -

In August 2022 China conducted air and naval military training operations around the island of Taiwan. The Chinese sent a number of their J20 stealth fighters aloft armed with air-to-surface and air-to-air missiles carried externally, degrading its stealth capabilities. American and Taiwanese radars and other ELINT (electronic intelligence) equipment got a chance to test the stealth capabilities of the J20. China has been trying to develop world-class stealth fighters since the 1990s. A decade ago the J20 appeared, described as a true stealth fighter. It sort of was but eventually turned out to be close but still a work-in-progress. That was probably confirmed as J20s flew near Taiwan and were tracked by American and Taiwanese radars.

OBSERVATION - I think I noted that China’s exercise will tip their hand to a lot of their capabilities, plans, C2 etc. This is one instance that is going to come and bite Chinese preparations. I think that in to having only external weapons mounts, overall design and materials probably are not use to snuff to mitigate radar detection. The J20 has other problems and issues that China still hasn’t ironed out, but has forged ahead with production any way. It doesn’t look like a game changer at this point.

Russia -
WAR WATCH - Russia is now entering its seventh month of fighting since starting on Feb 24th.

********
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a decision to increase the size of Russia’s standing military from 1.9 million to just over 2 million troops. The decision goes into effect on 01 January 2023.

OBSERVATION - While a relatively considerable expansion, the question now becomes whether or not Russia is capable of training and equipping them given the steep losses in Ukraine and sanctions that are preventing the construction of new tanks and armored vehicles.

RUMINT -
Meeting in Duma: Russian Parliament to issue a special statement on Ukraine Tomorrow. The Duma’s statement tomorrow will call for the international community (UN) to prevent a MAJOR nuclear accident at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) which Russia will claim is being struck by Ukraine. Possibly in preparation for the Duma’s statement, putin’s entourage was observed rushing to the Kremlin late night Moscow time. As of the time i’m typing this, no statement has been issued by the Duma.

Ukraine -

WEATHER FORECAST - Hot with widely scattered thunderstorms over parts of the 10 day forecast period

24 HOUR ROUND UP -
At least 22 people dead in Russian strike on a train and nearby buildings at Chaplyne station in eastern Ukraine. Russia claims it was a troop train.

Russian continued limited attacks in the east with little to no success. Ukraine continues stratigic strikes on logistics/ammo facilities, choke points on supply routes and command posts in anticipation of an offensive.

Kyiv front ——
NSR

Northern (Chernihv region ) and North Eastern (Konotop - Sumy salient) Fronts - ——
NSR

Eastern (Kharkiv) front - Russian artillery hit some areas south of Isyum while Russian missiles (S-300s) targeted industrial areas of Kharkiv. .

Donetsk Oblast ——
Russian scattered artillery fire hit the eastern margin of the Slovyansk-Siversk-Bakhmut salient.
Russian forces continued to press their attacks north and south of Bakhumt. Renewed Russian pushes at Pisky. A lot of areas hit with artillery along the Donetsk LOC an up tick from recent levels.

Crimean Front ——
Russian artillery fired along the Kherson Oblast LOC. These artillery strikes appear in part to be supporting spoiling attacks by Russian ground forces.
Russia shelled Mykolaiv with S-300 missiles overnight

Ukrainian aviation struck Russian equipment concentration points in Novovoznesenske, Arhanhenske, and Pravdyne, all situated along the Kherson Oblast administrative border. NOTE - over 6 months into the war and Russia STILL hasn’t established air superiority.

New satellite imagery from August 21 showed Russian military equipment within 60 meters of Reactor No. 5 at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant

Western / Central Ukraine ——
Russian forces continued to shell and launch missiles at Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv Oblasts

Russian Territory -—
Railway damaged as result of explosion near Kursk.
Suspicious - Oil products plant caught fire in Tuymazy, Bashkirostan

Partisan Resistance ——
Blackout in Kherson, Nova Kakhovka and occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia region. Unstated cause.
A Ukrainian partisan improvised explosive device (IED) attack killed the Russian-appointed head of Mykhailivka, Zaporizhia Oblast on August 24

Ammunition / logistical sites hit —
Ukrainian forces struck the Kakhovka Bridge over the Dnipro River.

OUTLOOK ——
As i’ve noted before, things have been at a virtual stalemate. Since Russian forces resumed offensive operations following a pause on July 16 Russian forces have gained about 450.84 km2 (roughly 174 square miles) of new territory. Most of that gain was the result Ukraine pulling out of the Luhansk pocket. OTOH Russian forces have lost roughly 45,000 km2 of territory since March 21 (the estimated date of Russian forces’ deepest advance into Ukraine), an area larger than Denmark. The front line has been essentially unchanged since July 14th.

More of the same in the near future. Until Ukraine finally executes its ground phase of the offensive to reclaim Kherson things will remain little changed. I don’t see Russia having the assets to launch any major, sustained offensive operations. Its artillery corps is under armed and equipped. Its ground forces are increasingly undermanned and poorly equipped.
And if rumors from yesterday are true, all decisions on the ground going to putin and not his subordinate generals in the Kremlin, coordination of actions will be even slower and less effective.

Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant will be front and center until Russia pulls out of the facility and UN related regulators and observers take charge. Russia is caught pretty red handed with all the military equipment parked next to the reactors. They may be in a stage where they are facing diminishing returns of keeping the facility.

Israel -

RUMINT - Israeli F-35 stealth fighters penetrated Iranian airspace on multiple occasions in the last two months, a Saudi-run news outlet reported Wednesday, as Israel stepped up its rhetoric against a nascent agreement to revive the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.
The unverified report in London-based Elaph said the jets successfully evaded Russian and Iranian radars during the exercises. Drones and mid-air refueling tankers were also reported to have participated in the “massive” drills.
According to Elaph, Israel and the US also carried out secret exercises over the Red Sea simulating a strike on Iran from the sea and air and the seizing of Iranian warships.

OBSERVATION - I suspect this is finely crafted propaganda as a warning towards Iran. That said, Israel is totally capable of pulling this off and this should give the Mullahs nightmares.

Iran -

As some sort of ‘agreement’ (appeasement) approaches on the Iranian nuclear treaty, Iran is sensing the weakness of the US and in addition to loudly preparing to attack israel after the ‘treaty’ is approved is also issuing direct threats not only against Israel, but also against any Arab country that dares to cooperate with the Israelis.

Iraq -

Iraqi Parliament spokesman - “there has been no decision or date to reconvene parliament. The best place to meet is the parliament building & it has been occupied by protesters”

OBSERVATION - The standoff between Sadr and Iranian backed parties continues.

Syria -

Iranian backed groups responded to the U.S. airstrike yesterday with rocket attacks injuring several soldiers. U.S. Apache helicopters responded and hit 3 vehicles and the pilots are believed to have killed those responsible for firing the rockets.

In Deir Ezzor, US forces targeted Iranian sites in the town of Hatla, north of Deir Ezzor, in response to the Iranian missile attacks on the bases of the international coalition in El Koniko and the Green Village “Omar Field.” It is known that Hatla is an Iranian base in Deir Ezzor. The bombing by warplanes came after the leader of the Iraqi National Defense Militia Firas entered the town of Hatla, accompanied by a large military convoy.

OBSERVATION - As I noted yesterday, this tit for tat will spiral up. Iran and its proxy militias are currently emboldened by biden’s weakness overall. My concern is how much support will biden give to these military garrisons in Syria if attacks continue.

Mexico -

Drug cartels continue their wars while Mexican govt forces try to put a lid on it. Most of the actions now appear to be more selective targeting of opponents as well as Mexican forces arresting cartel leadership.

OBSERVATION - Concerns continue that with the increasingly open border this warfare will expand into the US.

Just last year kalifornia asked the few owners of EVs NOT to plug them in because of the shortage of electricity. That same scenario may well play out once again this year.

I've figured this one out: liberals create horrible situations assuming that "when it's bad enough" some conservative s engineer or bankers etc. will step in and 'save the day'. Not much else makes sense...

GREAT update today.

I have a question:

A letter reminds HHS that government employees have “legal responsibilities to collect, retain, and preserve all documents, communications,” which also extend to “official and personal [email] accounts or devices, burner phones, including records created using text messages, phone-based message applications, or encryption software.”

Why the actual f*** does HHS have BURNER CELL PHONES, which are phones intended to be discarded so that calls and messages cannot be tracked?????

Oh, and I have a solution to this:

OBSERVATION - One can expect SWATTING to rise in the coming months as a tool the left uses to try to intimidate and silence political opposition (and even get the police to shoot/kill them).

Have the police announce that no calls will be responded to, if the cell phone or land line cannot be matched with a human being.

Then arrest and convict those engaged in SWATting.

90% certain Ukraine has kicked off their long awaited offensive to retake Kherson and Kherson oblast. Initial reports suggest some parts of Russian forces are retreating in a route. Will try to update later with more info
