It is a UN agency, so it exists for skimming.
Well, if blacks didn’t throw out and murder whites in Africa, they wouldn’t be starving.
Rhodesia was “The Breadbasket of Africa”.
The humans, and their government, are the problems in Africa.
The land is rich and fertile. (Just ask the Chinese)
That's racist!
Interesting how the challenge was met with squishy wording: “it WILL prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation.”
Musk is NOT someone to use squishy wording with in high-stakes negotiations.
BTW: that’s $142 per person.
elon musk, exposing the corruption of the UN... will it fall on deaf ears?
“It's not complicated,” he said
Funny how the Dems and their cousins at the UN follow the same script:
Someone works really hard for decades to acquire a fortune. Then there jokers come round and demand that you hand over your money to them to use as they want..
‘food shortages’ are rarely due to a shortage of food, they are generally due to a lack of distribution of the existing food.
check and mate.....
you cant just
give food away.
the local thugs need to be
paid off
Giving free food to people unable to feed themselves just creates more hungry people.
I remember when Ted Turner donated $1 billion to the UN. They made a movie about it: “Gone in 60 Seconds”
WTF makes him think they want the money for anything but hookers and blow??
Hi.
Cheap energy, an abundant water supply and a free market produce food. In the desert (greenhouses) or the American plains. For the next hundred years.
Otherwise, you feed the world one meal a day. This year.
Imho.
5.56mm
Hold on there, is it fair to ask how your $6MM is going to be spent? I thought giving money to the UN was an article of faith.
Love it - put up or shut up, UN.
Man, the amount of DGAF in Elon is high.
“Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, says he will sell $6 billion worth of Tesla stock and donate the proceeds to the United Nations’ food agency if it could show how the money would solve world hunger.”
Nothing can “solve” world hunger. It is systemic.
They have said “”$6 billion to help 42 million people that are literally going to die if we don’t reach them ...”
Therefore it seems they should have to prove that $6B would help 42 million people from starving. Not an easy thing to do.
Why should someone risk their fortunes on commercial farming in Africa when people can get their food for free from the UN? However if we are going to give food aid why not take all the corn used for ethanol and turn it into corn flour? I know it may require a different type of seed but it should still be possible.
