Well, there are a couple of different scenarios here. If he was filming a scene, or rehearsing the scene, he may have been required to aim at a specific point (the camera maybe?). That event would have been required to be be tightly monitored by experts.

If, on the other hand, Baldwin was screwing around, that changes the situation dramatically.

What a great poster event for gun control and gun grabbers to use to justify more efforts to restrict our second amendment rights.

————————————————————

I don’t know. Baldwin was the perfect poster boy in the fight against drunk and domestic violence, as when he assaulted his own daughter. But nothing changed as a result of that.

And I doubt Hollywood and the liberal elite will do anything about this horrible incident either. They will give Baldwin a pass, they will continue to feature movies glorifying gun violence, and of course continue their tirade against conservatives.

Why was there ANY live ammo on the set? THAT needs investigating.

Agreed. And I don't blame him unless it can be proven that it was intentional.

The gun was prop. A defective prop. No different than a stage light falling on someone because it wasn't properly secured.

Even a person trained in handling guns, would have probably done the same because the expectations were that it was nonfunctional prop. Of course, someone who has handled firearms before would have questioned the gun and inspected it for themselves.

And might decide to blame the gun for the accident. He may use “this experience” to go all out and attack 2nd amendment.

However, the 2nd amendment had nothing to do with it.

If it is a fully functional firearm, who owns it?

All I can say is something stinks.

I can see a possible pyro mishap with another actor at point blank range, but an off-camera producer? With a REAL BULLET??? That goes All the way through and injures another???

I don’t think so.

It’s enough he killed someone with an errant shot but he also injured another? How does anyone do that???

that Alec Baldwin was rehearsing a church scene with the cinematographer when he drew the gun and said something like ‘is this what you want?’ and then pulled the trigger. Director was standing behind her

Tapes? Hah! You can bet that producer Baldwin had them erased before the cops arrived.

Isn’t it obvious that he is transferring guilt to the prop manager? His excuse, “I’ve never been handed a hot gun”, is the clue he is not accepting responsibility for the deadly act.

Charge Baldwin with manslaughter..two questions, who put the live round in the gun and secondly, why was he aiming the gun at the cinematographer of all people..Id understand if he were aiming it at another actor in the film, but the cinematographer makes no sense

Now don’t be asking those pesky questions.../sarc

“The gun was prop. A defective prop.”

Apparently it was not defective!

Source for “nonfunctional prop”, please.

The gun did not misfire. It fired perfectly. It was aimed, however, in a direction that killed its apparent intended victim. Why else would the perpetrator (the shooter, not the gun) have aimed a loaded gun at an intended victim and pulled the trigger? The most basic training in the use of guns absolutely prohibits such an action.
Additionally, why would a person who adamantly opposes gun ownership and gun use be handling a gun? Why then would this opponent of gun ownership have pointed the gun at an intended victim and discharged the weapon?
The gun did not aim itself and it did not discharge itself. Alec Baldwin aimed the gun and pulled the trigger. That much is manifestly obvious.

Laundrie's parents could always offer to hide Baldwin in Carlton Reserve...
