Two young ppl who live an online life, grew up with the MTV Real World culture, the look at me society, which all thrives on drama. Neither seemed like the could actually exist in such a real world but mistakenly put themselves in a fishbowl anyway. He wasn’t mentally capable of such a trek with a person and she wasn’t mentally capable either. You’re stuck in that van together for weeks on end. No surprise this went downhill.
Due process does make sense to me.

We don’t know what he told his parents. He could have told them he and Gabby had a big fight, he dropped her off at her friends house so they could take some time to cool off. That would give him a few days without a lot of questions.
Gabby’s parents didn’t call looking for her until the 10th I think, and he got home on the 1st.
Maybe he called them from Wyoming, and they told him to drive back to Florida. They might’ve called the lawyer right away.

And with the FBI ‘investigating’, it starts becoming a possibility that this scumbag actually DID NOT kill her, but he and his family understands that he doesn’t have a prayer at ‘proving’ his innocence.

There comes a point when being a parent is about right and wrong. That’s a huge problem today with families.
I gather that she had left her family to live with his family, and possibly work in the same juice bar business he worked in. One of the sisters said that they squabbled a lot. So the fact that both families enabled this young couple with inadequate conflict resolution skills to go cross country is tragic.

You know, I never thought of that aspect.
HOWEVER.....
I am very much a mother. LOL
My beloved husband says I am an ‘outsider’ as a mother. Why? Because I don’t use emotion when seeing the world as it is, rather, I see down the long-term scenario at what current actions will turn out to cause....
You’ll never believe the enemies, REAL enemies..... I’ve made because I do NOT react as a mother would when it comes to Real World actions and reactions.
Note, I’m not saying you’re wrong.
I just think very differently...
A decades old friend of mine once said if she wanted soft words and loving comments she would call/text someone else; if she wants facts and bluntness she calls/texts me. And she was drop dead serious when she made that comment.
