Daniel Wilkinson – A 46 year old US Army veteran in Texas – has tragically and needlessly passed away because no hospital would admit him to perform an emergency surgery that could have saved his life from a highly treatable condition.
“He Loved his country. He served two deployments over in Afghanistan, came home with a purple heart, and it was a gallstone that took him out.” Michelle Puget, Wilkinson’s grieving mother told CBS.

There must be bodies everywhere.
Scary indeed. I’m going in for the same operation Tuesday. Here’s the thing... It’s an out patient operation. In and out the same day.
If they need hospital beds that bad, which I seriously doubt, why not build temporary hospitals the way Trump did? And where are the hospital ships? Where is the plan biden was saying he had? Funny the media has nothing to say about that after the way they pounded Trump for over a year over covid.
The hospitals there have had more than a year to prepare for any surge.
I hope they get sued, and sued hard.
Premeditated murder.
Infuriating. Disheartening. I’m more angry than I can express.
If only people would have taken the jab, he could have been cared for!!!!!!!
(/s)
He shoulda gone to Cuber.
How can a hospital be sued for being at greater than capacity? What would you like us to do?
We are trying our best with emergencies — we dont turn anyone away so I think there is probably more here than meets the eye, but we are running at far above capacity — the toll on medical staff and nursing is inhuman.
There is more to this story than meets the eye — but the hospitals are running at more than full at least in the southeast region. I am sorry y’all dont like this and blame us for it — and yes — it continues to be >99% unvaccinated in the hospital and 100% UNVACCINATED in CRITICAL CARE.
It is possible and indeed very likely that the lack of “hospital beds” means they do not have the nursing staff to care for additional patients.
If I am correct, and I think I am, this is in direct correlation to vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. Many nurses I hear from are leaving the profession completely rather than take the vaccine.
To have “beds” available, you have to have nurses, aides, housekeepers, techs, resp therapists etc, etc. available to do the work.

Hmmm... Might be more to this one...
something weird about this story. what happened to triage? he didn’t need the icu. he needed an operating room and a qualified surgeon.
Like a lot of stories there has to be more. Something that is not being told.

Like school districts which like to cut things like band and athletics (those are things that make news and impact many students so parents get riled up), perhaps this move of not expanding ICU beds is meant to telegraph false narrative that ICU beds are full from unvaxxed getting COVID...Get the jab!!!
Excuse me, I have to order more foil...But I like foil hats :) They seem to be coming into style ;)
Are the hospitals still being paid by Uncle Sam to treat COVID patients in house? There’s a 10 BILLION dollar pot of money being shared by 1,000 hospitals. Is your hospital one of them? Great way to pay the indigent care costs, isn’t it?
There's more to this story than "the unvaccinated are killing us!!!"
Family in Seattle are telling me all ERs are closed, and most doctors are not seeing patients because of covid.
And, I can’t help but wonder why it took them so long to think to call the VA in Houston? Seems like that could have been expedited, given the man’s condition and heroic service. Septic gallbladder is nothing to fool with and once your pancreas starts digesting itself, it’s generally not a good outcome. He may have died anyway, but what a terrible thing for both him and his family, to feel like they couldn’t get help anywhere. Too many illegals using the ER as their free clinic when they come into the country with “an unknown respiratory illness”.

I’ve been scheduled for shoulder replacement on Sept. 27 and I’m ready to back out. If they close down visits for family I know I won’t have it done.....if they hold me over for the night I want my family to check on me. One big hospital has closed down their emergency rooms at 3 of their hospitals because of Covid they say. Wouldn’t it be something if I got Covid in the hospital? That’s my other fear.
