WASHINGTON, D.C. — Move over, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg-a new player appears to be showing up in the private surveillance arena.
“Oh come on!” … but the United States Postal Service actually has a program that spies on citizens’ social media posts called (oddly enough) iCOP.
That’s not a typo. iCop is being used by the USPS to look for “inflammatory” posts.
According to a Yahoo! article that described the program: “The work involves having analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then sharing that information across government agencies.”
But it was kept “hush hush” until now, so I am taking odds that the USPS didn’t bother with pesky “permission” before openly spying on U.S. citizens. Of course, with the announcement they also offered their reasoning for using such an invasive measure of surveillance…
They were filtering the web for posts about a potential threat in the U.S. on March 20th. That threat ended up being nonexistent of course. Surprising, since ALL terrorist attacks begins with a Twitter post detailing the nefarious plans.
Continued: “The government’s monitoring of Americans’ social media is the subject of ongoing debate inside and outside the government, particularly in recent months, following a rise in domestic unrest.”
It looks like the Biden administration is about to tighten the screws on its citizens even further. It’s actually pretty easy: the U.S. Government screams “DOMESTIC UNREST” and that gives them a blanket permission to put the Constitution in with the magazines in the water closet.
Corporations and Government Working Together (To Trample on Your Liberties)
Homeland Security has to jump through a bunch of hoops to (legally) keep an eye on you. So to circumvent that, Biden is considering an “end around.”

BLM/Antifa can burn black neighborhoods to the ground in the name of anti-racism and it’s all good with Joseph Stolen.
Now they do other things not under their purvue and still manage not to deliver mail. Outstanding.
Might explain why it took them 57 days to deliver my Christmas packages.
Children playing with regular expressions (and calling it “AI”).
Is this why they can’t deliver my mail in a reasonable amount of time anymore?
This was reported on a few months ago. IIRC, the P.O. was found to be acting on its own, and the op was shut down. No idea of any of that is true, but I do remeber hearing about this.
The answer to this crap is simple. Abandon Social Media! We got along without it for millennia. Anyone who refuses is complicit in this crap. I joined prior to the 2016 election to support Donald Trump’s campaign. Once he was elected I deleted my Faceplant and Twit accounts. Haven’t missed them for even a brief moment.
The USPS is not an intelligence agency. What is it doing with such a program? What is happening to our government?
It explains why there was 10 billion dollars for the Postal Service in the Covid relief bill.
That the Leftists put in there.
“Haven’t missed them for even a brief moment”
Excellent, I wish more had that type of resolve. :)
We’re in for a whole lot of waco’s and ruby ridge’s. I’m starting to think we may actually be getting ready to go through the same “purge” crap that always occurs after a coup. Make NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT! The last presidential election was a “COUP”. Now, in order to solidify their power, they must purge ALL opposition!
The USPS steals your stuff and there is nothing you can do about it. They stole 19 pounds from a 20 pound package I sent my daughter and laughed in her face (Jacksonville, FL), saying it happened all the time. The cops were called in and said they could do nothing...needed more complaints. The Postmaster General was contacted.....and ignored it. MULTIPLE parties all laughed and refused to do anything about it...About that time we figured out they’d stolen an earlier package too. Years ago they opened my brother’s packages (Melbourne, FL) and broken the contents. They always reseal it, but the packages are LIGHT (missing stuff). I am receiving stuff now as is my family and the packages have all been opened. I hope they shut this outfit down. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
USPS mail in ballots handed pervert Joe the keys to the White House.
Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery. It works 9 out of 10 times.
I’ve had similar experiences but only in the last two years.
Even mailing a card has become an issue and they’ve pilfered a couple.
I avoid the P.O. if I can help it.
I NEVER use Parcel Post; EVERYTHING in a box goes UPS or FedEx.
p
The USPS needed to move into a new racket. Heaven knows the only mail they deliver anymore is truckloads of bogus ballots.
