Maricopa County officials announced on Monday they will not use fraudulent voting equipment again. “The County will never use equipment that could pose a risk to free and fair elections.” On Monday, woke local Arizona journalist Jen Fifield shared some good news for a change.

Maricopa County will no longer use “compromised” voting machines. This announcement comes after Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobb’s May 20, 2021 letter, to the County, blaming the Arizona Senate for compromising the machines.

If we want free and fair elections, we should just go back to paper ballots.

The demonrats will tamper with the new machines.

Would be more cost effective to install better software in the old machines.

Perhaps we need to take pics of each completed ballot and have the voter verify it.

One might think that some entrepreneur would create hardware and software for voting machines which would be open, transparent, fraud-proof, and easily auditable.

Software is insecure by design and vulnerable to back door manipulation. A good book on the subject is, “Digital Woes” by Lauren Ruth Wiener

The hardware of the machines are probably fine.

Wipe the HDs and load them with an open source set of software [and all wireless h/w decommissioned].

That’s what it sounds like. They are suggesting that the machines were tampered with by the auditors presumably to show that there were major problems with the count. So they are just sullying the water so they can say sure it looks bad but only because of what the auditors did after the election.

The company that makes the machines has the county sign an agreement that excludes outside parties from servicing them or inspecting them, so they can say, if there is an audit, that the machines are “compromised” since you didn’t have Dominion or whoever audit themselves.

They are admitting that the machines can be rigged.

Eventually, someone will combine blockchain technology with voting so that you have a cryptographically secure ballot with a secure audit trail. Until that time, best to stick with paper ballots.

Paper ballets, hand counted.

But if you are going to use a (vote counting) machine, then that machine had better have nothing but open sourced software running on it.

The machine itself doesn’t matter. Who will be writing the software for whatever machines they choose to use?

How? They are competely separate issues. The Arizona issue deals with chain of custody issues and deals with the chain that is now broken. Thus, there is no way that the machines could be considered representative for counting ballots. Whereas Lindell and Powell are being sued for making up accusations that turned out to be not true (unless of course you, like many on this board, believe in baseless conspiracy theories)

Only with a 100% turnout. Anything less than 100% how do you tell?

Simple. Voter comes to the poll, shows ID, their participation is noted in a log. At the end of the day, the number of ballots should equal the number of people on the log.

more to it than just chain of custody-

“Now, Dominion Voting Machines, the election equipment and software firm that has been accused of essentially rigging the election for President Joe Biden, has quite a bit to gain from the revelation that their machines, which were used in Maricopa, were in no way manipulated or weighted to benefit the Democratic candidate.

After all, they’ve filed massive lawsuits against many of their most vocal critics, such as attorney Sidney Powell and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, both of whom have made very specific and insanely bold claims against the firm.

So why are they now refusing to hand over passwords that would aid scrutiny into serious concerns have been raised over missing data? At the very least, this is simply not a great look for the much-criticized firm.”

https://www.westernjournal.com/dominion-refuses-hand-ballot-tabulator-passwords-arizona-audit-worries-cause-irreparable-damage-company/

As i said- hopefully this audit will get the ball rolling about information that helps lindell and powell in their cases (Do you- like some on the board, feel that dominion is on the level and shouldn’t be investigated perhaps? what is your evidence that lindell and powell have nothing but wild conspiracy theories? Last in knew, no such evidence has been presented proving dominion didn’t do anything untoward-)

From thel ink

“We have recently discovered that the entire ‘Database’ directory from the D drive of the machine ‘EMSPrimary’ has been deleted,” she wrote in part. “This removes election related details that appear to have been covered by the subpoena. In addition, the main database for the Election Management System (EMS) Software, ‘Results Tally and Reporting,’ is not located anywhere on the EMSPrimary machine, even though all of the EMS Clients reference that machine as the location of the database.”
