The New York Times apparently told the truth, and I will speculate on its ulterior motive later.
But first, allow me to examine, "Beneath Joe Biden’s Folksy Demeanor, a Short Fuse and an Obsession With Details," a triple-bylined piece that makes the man, who was known for his stupidity as a senator, out as some sort of Greek philosopher who spends months exploring options before making a decision. The piece said, "Quick decision-making is not Mr. Biden’s style. His reputation as a plain-speaking politician hides a more complicated truth. Before making up his mind, the president demands hours of detail-laden debate from scores of policy experts, taking everyone around him on what some in the West Wing refer to as his Socratic 'journey' before arriving at a conclusion."
Socratic journey is Times-speak for cannot make up his mind, which leads to why he is short of fuse.
The piece then said, "Those trips are often difficult for his advisers, who are peppered with sometimes obscure questions. Avoiding Mr. Biden’s ire during one of his decision-making seminars means not only going beyond the vague talking points that he will reject, but also steering clear of responses laced with acronyms or too much policy minutiae, which will prompt an outburst of frustration, often laced with profanity.
"Let’s talk plain English here, he will often snap."
Hmm.
Biden is acting like the Times accused Donald Trump of acting. Interesting.
In its summation of the piece, Breitbart said, "The report notes Biden holds lengthy deliberation meetings and demands obsessive details from his advisors. When advisors get too technical or obscure about an issue, Biden responds with “an outburst of frustration, often laced with profanity."
Hmm.
And Breitbart said, "The report also reveals Biden will hang up the phone on people who he feels are wasting his time.
"The president leans heavily on his inner circle for governing — chief of staff Ron Klain, deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed, senior adviser Mike Donilon, and Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti.
"Biden stalls and deliberates intently on issues such as his tone toward Vladimir Putin, the report noted, appointing ambassadors, and his recent flip-flop on refugee caps."
If true — and the Times loves to spread malicious gossip — we can see just what the dangers of his presidency are. It is not that he will make some wild hare-brained decision. If he does, his aides will stop it. No, the danger is his aides will make some wild hare-brained decision, and he will be too addled of brain to stop them.
Biden is overwhelmed.
He should not be president.
In February 1988, Biden suffered two brain aneurysms. 33 years later, even with medication, we may be witnessing the damage done.
A wise reader wrote me, "A note on Joe. A person close to me had two brain aneurysm surgeries. They are in reality not the same mental person as they were before. Understanding the complex is no longer possible leading to frustration and early abandonment of the task at hand. The brain is the most complex thing known to exist in the entire universe. How it produces consciousness and its thought products is not really understood. But lest I state the obvious Joe is not really a fully functioning unit."
Everyone in the inner circle knows this. He is being used.
The wise man said, "His permanently altered analytic state is what made him truly attractive to the money men and clinched the deal: Not understanding leads to reliance on others who then do what they please."
They exploited Obama's laziness and ennui. Obama did not care what happened so long as he got to sit on the throne and put his feet up on the desk.
Now they exploit Biden's mental incapacitation.
He is short of temper because he is frustrated because his mind cannot wrap itself around the subject at hand.
This is why he abruptly hangs up the phone.
This is why he cannot make a decision.
They are dealing with someone who is not quite there.
The story said, "Over time, the president’s staff has learned the routine. They have padded his schedule with 15-minute breaks because they know he will not finish on time. He is allowed 30 minutes for lunch — a rotation of salad, soup and sandwiches — and because of the pandemic, rarely eats with people other than Vice President Kamala Harris, with whom he has a weekly lunch."
I wonder if they cut the crusts from his bread.
He is a president run by his staff. That has become common in Washington. These geezers in the Senate and the House do what their staffs tell them to do. I remember interviewing Byrd at an editorial board meeting in 2006. His arms flapped uncontrollably like wings while he read from a notebook prepared by his aides who sat at his left and at his right.
Our president is just such a puppet.
Now why would the Times bring this up? Are Democrats beginning to ease Biden out of the White House via the 25th Amendment? Has the matter become so obvious that even White House reporters see it?
Likely the situation is far worse than the Times let on.
He acts like an asshole not because he is an asshole but because he is frustrated to have power greater than his pea brain can handle.
He is and always has been one!
I didn’t think he was acting.
Joe is Professional a-hole
Joe Biden has always been an obnoxious AYY Hole who is ALWAYS wrong.
He as dumb as a door nail.
He’s always been bad, the dementia makes it worse.
I have to disagree with the author. He acts like an a-hole because he is an a-hole.
“His inner circle”......all old white males. Oh, my!
Now that Biden is making himself look like a clueless, disengaged sock puppet, we get a story leaked from behind the scenes making that makes him look fully engaged and decisive.
The timing, content and intent of this intentional "leak" could not be any more obvious.
I will translate. Biden is an airhead with no core who has never been correct on any policy issue he has voted on in the last 47 years. He is a posturing fool with a dysfunctional sleazy family.. Simply put, he is not hireable , even for the mail room, assuming we still had mailrooms.
It is interesting that what the NYT accused Trump of doing and found it to be a very bad thing, they now praise Biden of doing and say it is a good thing....................Hypocrisy at its finest...............
ALL politicians are a-holes. Heck, even Trump pi**ed me off at times and I voted for the man in 2016.
He may be a raging idiot, but I am more afraid of his backup....Harris!
Simple. Grandpa Gropes is ***not*** acting. . .
A dog acts like a dog because it is a dog and can do no else.
Because he is an unaccomplished person who has been elevated beyond his capabilities all of his life, and he is a resentful toad.
CCP is AZZHOLE. So is Joe Joe and Kamal Ho.
“Biden is overwhelmed. He should not be president.”
He acts just like people who have a dread fear of responsibility. They hide behind the idea that they are weighing all the options and other related (sometimes unrelated) aspects of the question.
They fool some people. But if you are yourself a responsible and decisive person used to decision-making and used to professional oversight and leadership.... you will not be fooled.
I suspect Joe is aware of his increasing limitations and inability to focus.... so he’s afraid of his own shadow. His corner knows, too. So they keep a tight reign on him... except possibly in their ‘meetings’, when they must endure his ‘playing President’ act. He is being indulged and he doesn’t even KNOW it.
They must totally resent the monster they created, when he has them jumping through hoops and when they have to ‘pretend’ they are dealing with a REAL President. Pure Kabuki!!
What they really should be reporting is the imposter pretending to be Joe Biden who on close inspection really looks nothing like him is short tempered and obsessive. 😏
His staff knows how to deal with that. They placate him with a banana
