Well, it's not looking all that good for the folks trying to take down Matt Gaetz.
What started out as a scandal that looked and sounded like it might actually become *something* has fizzled into nothing. Now, I'm not saying that the fake news did a good job, but Matt didn't handle things well out of the gate, he got a bit weird and a tad frazzled - and the story about the extortion sounded so convoluted and wild. But it was real.
But we're nearly a month into this thing and so far not one single "accuser" has come forward against Gaetz. An article by Politico a couple of weeks ago, admitted that this might have been a ploy by someone close to Matt who was trying to deflect attention away from him. We don't know for sure yet, it's still being investigated, so Matt's not "off the hook" by any means, but the air has gone out of the balloon for all of the people on the left who were dancing on his political grave.
As a matter of fact, politico is now admitting that Matt Gaetz may actually have the last biggest and best laugh yet...on everyone, and if he does come out of this scandal unscathed, it will make him so much more politically powerful.

He could well end up more powerful. However, personal destruction is such a useful tactic that they perps will simply accept that it may have backfired this time and will go on to select their next victim. Cost of doing business, so to speak.
If it’s a Politico story on a blog, why do you chop it off in the middle? The blog didn’t write it, obviously. Are you pimping the blog?

Yep. The media has been crickets for weeks about Cuomo. Just watch, the scandals will just disappear. POS ought to be hanging from the end of a rope.
We have no idea what they really have, or how much jeopardy Gaetz is in. Only Gaetz and the DOJ know that.
Just because the DOJ isn’t holding daily press conferences, doesn’t mean they are not building their case. They have the “escorts”, and evidence of the Bahamas trip. Now they are trying to prove a Cannabis Lobbyist paid for the whole thing as a bribe. More “bimbo eruptions” is what the press needs, not the DOJ. The DOJ is working quietly to “flip” witnesses like the lobbyist, not trolling for bimbos.

I agree, but what’s really galling is that I have read carefully and listened carefully and I have yet to find out a single thing Gaetz actually did wrong. All the stories either tail off with he paid some girl some money or he was at a party where other people did drugs or that his buddy was a bad dude.
There is no mention of or witnesses that Gaetz gave money for illicit acts or substances or that he participated in any.
But when you read the headlines and the ledes or watch the putrid media, they are full of smug winking and sneering suggestions that there must be some real bad stuff going on and Gaetz is in big trouble.
Even for them, this is a new level of baseless accusation as their chosen tactic for political assassination
No accuser yet? Most assuredly the dems have Gloria Allred on speed dial with a crying “victim” waiting in the wings.
Show we photographs. Show me receipts, checks, signatures, public witnesses. Nothing.
I still want to know about Stephen Alford; a twice-convicted felon. I wonder what role he played. Could it be Mr. Alford was compromised and became a government asset willing to lie?
Find out what Alfords' involvement was and I'll bet you crack the case wide open.
