George Carlin once famously said, “When fascism comes to America, it will not be in brown and black shirts. It will not be with jack-boots. It will be Nike sneakers and smiley shirts, smiley, smiley”. He followed that statement by saying, “Germany lost the Second World War, fascism won it; believe me my friend.” At that point Bill Maher chimed in saying, “And actually, fascism is when the corporations become the government, and that’s sort of what we have…”. - These statements where made on “Real Time with Bill Maher”, September 9, 2005.
While there are some interesting insights in the comments, which are in a sense true as we can see more clearly today, what may be more interesting is the context in which the statements were made. First, however, it should be noted that although Carlin was basically correct in his premise, he got the tee-shirts wrong. Smiley tee-shirts went out of style years ago. Neither would he have comprehended that when fascism manifested itself, the smiley tee-shirts would have been replaced by BLM and Antifa tee-shirts. For what Carlin and Maher were discussing was White fascism in America, not the fascism Whites would be facing from the fascists in the streets or from leftist corporatism. Their comments were directed against conservatives, particularly white, as being a threat to government, society, and minorities.
Another interesting comment made by Carlin in that segment was this: “Elections and politicians are in place to give Americans the illusion they have freedom of choice, you don’t really have choice in this country.”
At the time, George W. Bush was the president and liberals were losing their minds. And although one may wonder if Carlin would have made the same assertion almost three years later with the election of Barak Obama—it seems doubtful—he was most certainly correct. It was the corporate powers choosing the candidates who we were allowed to pick from. And in the end, when America picked one they didn’t choose, their president was eventually taken from them.
Something happened in 2016 the corporatists were not expecting . A candidate appeared who didn’t need corporate money. He didn’t even really need that much of his own money. He knew how to drive the corporate media into a hysterical frenzy to the point they could not quit him even when they knew better, and he received free coverage 24/7.
Still, even then, the corporate elitists weren't overly concerned. In their minds the man was unelectable. The one who was far more concerned was the sitting president, and along with him, the leftist conspirators working in government agencies, offices, and departments.
Even with the high probability of a Hillary Clinton presidency, or so they had imagined, the risks they faced in losing power was far higher than those of all others. For years they had covered up acts of treason, espionage, dirty money, and illegal activities. There were far to many trails and far too much material evidence to get rid of. They needed an “insurance policy” just in case somehow the unlikely event they feared the most in some way should come to pass. And that is exactly what happened when Donald J Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States.
They were absolutely stunned. When Trump spoke of the swamp, shivers went up their spines. They knew who he was talking about. Night and day they contrived and actively plotted to destroy him. Time after time they attempted and failed. What other man do you know who could have withstood the Crossfire Hurricane and come out standing?
Even so, not only was the swamp deeper than anyone knew, the tentacles of the creatures were international. With the coming elections in 2020, the powers of Big-tech, hostile foreign governments, corporate media, and deep-state agents, all united knowing it was either now, or for some maybe never. They were forced to make their move openly rather than in increments as they had in the past.
Significant ground had been lost over the prior four years; the treat of another term of a Trump Administration was not an option. They were willing to blatantly and obviously use every bit of their power to seize control of the nation—and then afterward, use their power to to keep their power when they got caught, even though people knew.
This is what fascism looks like when it comes to America, Mr. Maher, and Mr. Carlin, wherever you are.
When a radical ideology becomes so pervasive in society that it seizes control, it will run its course until it becomes unbearable and is destroyed. We saw this with fascism in Europe last century and it is happening with Iran now. It is happening in China, Russia, and Turkey, But it is also happening in a different form across Europe, Australia, and in the Western hemisphere. Unlike times before, who now is left to fight it? Who is able to make war with the BEAST?
This movement will evolve into global fascism. Either before it does or after, if not both, war will be an inevitable result.
Fascism, once it reaches critical mass, will not be destroyed until it runs its course and becomes undeniably and unbearably evil. At that point it begins to self-destruct. As it does, others help its destruction.
The socialists who have taken control over the US and other governments around the world through a culture war, will not be overthrown until they fail completely and miserably—but this is inevitable. Their policies have always failed, and they are failing now. For the time being they will blame others. Then they will blame and destroy their own. At some point however, they will destroy themselves and have an end no better than Hitler and his henchmen came to in his Berlin bunker.
Until then, they may cause craft to prosper and destroy many, but they shall not long endure.
Remain not silent. Endure until the end. Those who loudly proclaim the truth while few will listen, will have their words reverberating forever.
Meawnhile, half the country goes along with this while our enemies are thriving, and America’s enemies are gaining power. The left calls Trump supporters fascists but they don’t even know what the word means.

That’s backwards.
In a way I agree with you, but I think we can go even further than saying it’s one or the other and say that it’s both. They’ve become one. Consider how the corporations are using their power, money, and their arbitrary granting of access into their world; or censorship and withholding of goods and services if you fail to comply. They ban you, censor you, shut down your finances and access to communication in ways even the government can’t get away with. It’s almost as if we have two government now, the the one in DC and another virtual shadow government that affects your life and freedoms. They work separately, yet as as one.
I'll be more overt about it. It's the spirit of Anti-Christ, Satan's indwelling of humanity.
