JAILBREAK.
After more years than I can remember, engaging in guerilla warfare as a member of the Partisan Resistance operating deep behind enemy lines, behind the Pink Curtain of Communist occupied California, I AM FINALLY FREE.
I have slipped the wire, crossed the mine field, thumbed my nose at the machine gun turrets, and am finally fulfilling the long-delayed dream of moving to the Eastern United States by fleeing this wretched cesspool of Marxism.
Good-bye, Gulag California!
I am headed to the lush green hills of eastern Tennessee where life is sane, my vote counts, my income is not taxed, my God-given Second Amendment Right can be exercised free from infringement just as designed by our wise and benevolent Founding Fathers. I am taking my tax dollars and 401k investments with me. Don’t worry. You can make it up my tax loss with a few dozen low-paid illegals now pouring over the border.
So GOOD-BYE, California, I am OUTTA here! I fart in your general direction. I have torn the pink curtain and fled the People’s Democratic Republic of California, never to return. Very possibly, never to set foot in the state again.
Good-bye, Yosemite National Park. Good-bye, Lake Tahoe. Good-bye, unbroken sunny blue skies and fabulous weather. You will all be sorely missed, but not much else.
My fellow resistance fighters, please rejoice with me and help to celebrate my escape from behind the Pink Curtain, and my impending return to the United States of America, for I no longer recognize anything of the original intent of her in the smoldering ruins of California.
Good-bye, farewell, and Amen. California. 1848-2020. Rest In Peace.
Take advantage of their new law, and get yourself a pistol to carry (NO PERMIT NEEDED!), and take advantage of the excellent firearms training available in the state.
California used to be such a great place. There should be punishment for politicians who turn relative paradises into oppressive semi- dictatorships with restricted liberties and extortive taxes.
Welcome to the land of good moonshine, great BBQ, and weather that changes every five minutes. You’ll like it over here.
In addition to when an emergency vehicle approaches you pull over when you can and when a funeral procession is approaching, you pull off the road and stop.
It’s a Southern thing.
It's best within a few miles of the coast. If you don't have the megazillions required to buy a house there, you'll find equivalent climates and a better quality of life in suburban Phoenix or Las Vegas.
Oh, lordy, they do Whiskey Trail distillery tours in that area, there’s so many distilleries there. I’m a Maker’s Mark Ambassador, myself - Kentucky. I have a barrel aging with my name on it there. When it’s ready to bottle, I’ll get the chance to hand-dip two bottles for myself. And I want to either buy the barrelhead, or have a full-size replica made of it, to hang in the dining room.
Play it safe change your name never trust them.
Come and listen to a story ‘bout a man named “Me”
Poor Californian barely kept his family fed
Then one day, he moved to Tennessee, then one day he was shooting at some food
And up through the ground come a bubbling crude…
I agree with most of what you wrote but I am fairly sure california died well before 2020.
Thanks for the well wishes.
Sorry I haven’t checked in or responded. I am busy making tracks putting California as far as possible behind me. I am on a splash and dash in Elko, Nevada hoping to make Laramie, Wyoming tonight.
Thanks again all. I will get back to you when time allows.
