Georgia Election-Law Backlash Exposes Outrageous Double Standard
National Review ^ | April 5, 2021 | Ilya Shapiro

Posted on 04/05/2021 3:00:29 PM PDT by CheshireTheCat

A state recently passed a law limiting early voting to nine days, only requiring some Election Day polling locations to be open during that early process, and limiting mandatory Sunday hours to 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Did this move generate a groundswell of social-media opposition and boycotts, as politicians and corporations fell over themselves to condemn a renewed Jim Crow? No, because that state is New Jersey.

Nor are there boycotts of New York, which had no early voting at all until last fall, when new rules spurred by the pandemic created nine days of in-person early voting. Or President Biden’s own Delaware, whose new early-voting legislation doesn’t take effect until next year. Six states still have no provision whatsoever for in-person early voting: Connecticut, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

All of these states, and many others, allow for fewer early-voting opportunities than Georgia, whose recently enacted Election Integrity Act of 2021, also known as Senate Bill 202 (or SB 202) mandates that precincts hold at least 17 days of early voting. And yet, after Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred announced that MLB would move its All-Star Game from Atlanta, he didn’t spend this past weekend cleaning out his Manhattan office. (And that’s not because there’s nowhere in the tristate area he can go without looking like a hypocrite.)...

If Demonrats didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

It doesn't matter what the truth is. It never matters what the truth is. What matters is what perception can be implanted into the mind of the average dim-witted low information voter.

Not to dispute what you have written, but much of what I post on FR I post so that readers of FR have information to bring up when they get the chance to try to get some of these dimwits to think.

I agree. And I used to think you could reason with these people. But I refer your to fhayek immutable law #4 (submitted by Jonathan Swift):

"It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into"

You cannot be serious.

“The media” are the culprit.
They are the de-facto propaganda wing of the democrat crime-machine and nothing more.

Some people cannot be reasoned with, to be sure, but you never know when a miracle in reasoning will take place and what role you can play in it. Sometimes it takes a person three encounters with similar points in order to see the light and you may be one of three people to make these points.

There are a lot of good articles posted on FR by many people and many good points in the comments. We can but remember 5% of them. But hopefully something of this 5% comes to the fore at the opportune time when discussing something with someone.

No, no. It, of course, matters to you and me what the truth is. The truth matters, of course. It doesn't matter to the Elitist/Propagandist/Leftist sphere. All that matters to them is how much bullcrap they can make the weak minded among us swallow.

We have the same laws here in TN. The left doesn’t bother us.

There are plenty of MLB teams in red states with similar laws.

I am glad Lincoln came back from the dead to give his opinion on the very true quote in my post.
The only thing is, he’d agree with me.

That's because NJ and NY are already solid blue states.

The Left is pissed at GA because it's on their list to turn blue as well.

The GA should scrap the new law and replace it with Delaware’s election law. Word for wood.

The truth matters. Don't misunderstand me. The Leftist ignore the truth for their own purpose.

I mean, hypothetically, you could deliver a damning laptop to the leftwing media with information about political corruption and sexual perversion by the son of a president, activities, condoned by said president, and the media probably would work overtime to ignore, cover up and obfuscate the story. Even when corroborating the story would by a relatively simple matter.

I know that sounds far-fetched, but I feel confident in my assessment...

It’s not about voting, it’s about rigging the system to make sure they cannot ever lose another election.

What the Republicans should be doing is using the Georgia reform and doing is this *REVIEW THOSE GEORGIA SENATE ELECTION RESULTS

There were a series of fraudulent voting charges here. Were they enforced and corrected before this election took place ? If they weren’t is not a review called for ?

They were created with the introduction of Covid 19 which the Biden campaign thanks the CCP for doing; http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3940857/posts

If the Georgia Secretary of State is in charge of voting he has the responsibility of enforcing the state’s regulations as to who votes. And eliminate those from voter lists who don’t qualify.

Assign prosecutors to personally canvass and investigate. Check if military actually voted by asking them. Identify all voters by checking on legal age their residency and citizenship. If found they do not qualify charge Illegals including state visitors known as snowbirds also include any technical computer fraudulent Italian programming testimony when presenting to the court and get these election results tossed.

LINKED HERE ARE REASONS WHY THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING 90% of the military votes went for Biden ?

It’s way past time for real “woke” Americans and other consumers to stand up and pronounce that WE will purchase our products and services from those who take NO PUBLIC POSITION on political issues of the day; that they spend their corporate advertising selfishly to promote their products and services; that the only place their charitable donations appear are in their financial statements and tax returns; that any political actions by their employees, management, officers, and/or executives are made independently of their company, and are neither endorsed by nor prohibited by their company. In short, the company might support chatitable events, but will not participate in nor endorse political activities.

This is the way it was when I entered the work force some 55 years ago, when businesses did not alienate some 50% of their potential customer base. Let’s bring it back.
