Alumni of the University of Texas Austin are fighting back this week to try to save their historic school song from cancellation after it was found to have Confederate origins.
UT Austin has a longstanding tradition that the school’s spirit song “The Eyes of Texas” is played after football games.
Performed to the tune of “I’ve been working on the railroad,” the song was was historically performed at minstrel shows on campus.

Every song needs to be banned. Each song uses words which are made up of individual letters. These letters could be moved around to spell different words. Some of these different word possible could be offensive to someone, somewhere in the world. In order to prevent any of the over 7 billion people from being offended, all songs must be banned.

UT is stuck between a rock and a hard place...listen to the SJW/cancel culture crowd and they’re going to lose billions in alumni funding. Listen to the rich alumni donors and deal with the crybabies protesting and making outlandish demands. It’s rather entertaining to watch.

So much misinformation, you’d think this was published by CNN. For starters, the demands were made last summer by the Black Student Athletes Association. It wasn’t started “this week”. It was revealed last week through an open records request but the blowback has been going on for months.
I’ve never seen a “minstrel show” performed on campus, only that the song used to have many more lyrics and was performed in a minstrel show over 100 years ago. To the BSAA, that means the song is guilty of “racist overtones”.
I’ve never heard Austin referred to as “San Francisco on the Prairie” but I have heard it referred to as “Sodom on the Colorado River”. In recent years, Austin’s leadership has taken more after Berkley than San Francisco.
My response to the BSAA is “how ‘bout you folks win some championships first and THEN we can talk about your grievances. If not, there’s always Texas Southern or Prairie View right down the road where you can feel more comfortable and we’ll just release you from your scholarship.”

What’s worse is they only use 26 letters, when we have at least 53 different genders. Since we need a letter for each gender to include in the LGBTQ+ abbreviation, this alphabet itself is systemically transphobic!!!
I’ve heard Austin called “Berkeley on the Prairie.”
Maybe the Alum Association should be looking into who is funding these liberal propaganda groups.
