Matt Gaetz was on with Bannon for the past half hour. The gist is they both think that "the best defense is a good offense" and that the centerpiece must be exposing the truth about the stolen election.
The GOPe Senate HATES this idea, and says Gaetz cannot do it while he is a sitting Congressman.
Matt Gaetz says that he will resign from Congress immediately in order to defend Trump in the Senate.

There is the issue of who controls the media feeds. Schumer might have a ‘cough’ button which will silence Gaetz whenever Schumer doesn’t like what he’s hearing.

Only thing I know is if we accept fraud then there is no hope. You don't have to accept fraud. And you can pretend Biden, soon to be Harris, is not President if it pleases you.
What you should NOT do is advocate for bringing this up in the Senate, since all the possible consequences of doing that are bad.

Desantis would reappoint him back to his seatNo, he can't.
Governors fill Senate vacancies. All House vacancies are filled by special election only (but the seats are often left vacant until the next election, because special elections are a lot of trouble and cost the State money).

Many of the Trump signs remain in my part of the world too (Southern Connecticut) - mostly out in the rural areas. I take a lot of backroads and see them often. Lot of Trump flags as well.

Trump should defend himself. The last thing the Communist-Democrats want is Trump -- who they truly cannot touch much less out-maneuver -- on center stage at prime time. If this was to happen, Schumer, after cleaning his "accident" off his panties and pulling up his skirt, would cancel this "trial" instantly.

The centerpiece of the sedition case is based on Trump repeating a โbig lieโ about a โstolen electionโ that was actually free and fair. IMHO, "actually" should be "allegedly", or at least in quotes like "big lie" and "stolen election". Since courts haven't heard any evidence, there's been no judgement that the election was free and fair. In a logical world, it can only be alleged. (I know, logic is white privilege, and cannot be tolerated).

He says heโs never lost a trial case, and he wonโt start in the SenateYou're a very smart guy.
Why don't you believe conviction is CERTAIN if Trump uses an election fraud defense?
His lawyers' responses to the impeachment are concise, correct, and allow an appeal over the Bill of Attainder issue.
Unless you don't care if Trump is convicted, what possible good can come of allowing an election fraud defense?

But-What’s his seat worth in the current, hysterical and wholly out of control Congress?
He can’t accomplish much in THAT environment. Staying ‘in’ ... he’d get tarred with the same slime that all the other Congressmen are sure (and apparently, eager) to immerse themselves

How red is his seat? How likely is someone else on the republican side to win it? About as red as it gets.

Trump has adequate representation for the Senate trial. If he says he’s resigning in order to defend Trump then I suspect it’s a convenient excuse for pursuing his real goal - to primary Rubio in 2022.
To: Travis McGee
I do listen to the War room. I still respectfully disagree .The fraud will come to light and I believe strongly that Trump should demonstrate that the Congress has no power over a private citizen.

Because there are only two entities that changes government:
The election process and massive amounts of money spread through politicians as well as administrators in Federal agencies.
In the trial if the Gaetz thing happens, Leahy will likely stop his argument the the basis of impertinence and being immaterial. Who would overrule him? Dems have the majority (Including Repubs who will not want to listen to Gaetz's presentation).
January 6th is a gift from hell to every wanna-be authoritarian and totalitarian. That day rivals Pearl Harbor as being a day of infamy. The ultimate "justification" to shut down every reasonable argument.
To: Jim Noble
Thanks for the correction. Gaetz is from the dark red Pensacola area in FL so he would have no problem in a special election or in a 2022 election. He could use the time off to do book signings for his new book “Firebrand”.

Where are you thinking about moving/retiring soon in Floriduh?
One of our younger relatives and his wife, a born again conservative due to Gruesome are thinking about pulling the plug and leaving California.
They want to be surrounded by conservatives not what we have here in Californicator land.
Thanks
