Joe Biden wasted no time destroying tens of thousands of jobs his first day in office by canceling the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
Biden also put a 60-day moratorium on new oil and natural gas leases and drilling permits on federal lands.
New Mexico’s leaders are worried that Biden’s war on the energy business will devastate the state’s economy, where education, jobs and public programs depend on funding from the industry.
Joe Biden (supposedly) won New Mexico with 54.29% of the vote vs 43.50% for Trump.
“During his inauguration, President Biden spoke about bringing our nation together. Eliminating drilling on public lands will cost thousands of New Mexicans their jobs and destroy what’s left of our state’s economy,” Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway told The Associated Press on Friday. “How does that bring us together? Environmental efforts should be fair and well-researched, not knee-jerk mandates that just hurt an already impoverished state.”

Look up the demographics of the state of 2 million and you should be able to divine the answer. With the Xiden open borders now NM will have to share the status of a white minority state as the border flood spreads out, it will be joined by many others. Of course this means the state may lose its standing as the state with the highest Medicaid enrollment.
How do you think entitlement driven states vote? For conservatives trying to get them jobs to make a living, or liberals just handing a living to them?

Anyone who has been paying attention should have been able to see this coming from a mile away.
Most of the people in New Mexico are liberals in the Albuquerque / Santa Fe area. California transplants and other miscreants. The folks who live in the oil patch in the southeastern side of the state are conservatives but there just aren’t enough of them population-wise. They have hinted many times about seceding and becoming part of Texas. Kind of like Alberta.
New Mexico has been run by a Mexican-American cabal for more than a century. They are joined by the Santa Fe/Taos elitists. The most productive element, the south and southeast and parts of the far northwest, are constantly outvoted.
If you put Hunter Biden on an advisor board as a consultant to look at the problem it might help.
