But he should eat a large bowl of baked beans beforehand. And maybe some cooked cabbage.
And then show up with some burritos and start to eat them during the ceremony.
And then open a couple of cans of Mountain Dew and drink them while Biden is speaking. Maybe gargle the Dew during the speech.
I think if he does those things, it would be okay to attend.
You have to understand it will be hard for the Democrats to arrange a huge event that conforms to Covid-19 distancing and number of people gathering requirements.
Trump can always say that his attendance would violate the Covid-19 rules that Democrats seem to say must be obeyed. Of course Democrats violate them all the time when it suits their purpose. Trump rallies are also counter to most Covid-19 gathering size and distancing requirements.
Trump should show the US and the world that he is a “man” and properly attend the ceremony, even shaking Biden’s hand.

The big indicator for me is that I can’t recall him ever mentioning Biden once by name since Election Day. He always refers to him as “my opponent” or “that guy.” The latter is about as disrespectful as it gets in matters of public office.
