First no response from the Republicans on the most obvious and corrupt election in world history and now Congressional Republicans want to stop the President’s wishes for providing more in COVID payments to the people.
Joe Biden manufactured 20 million or more votes in the 2020 election in November to steal the race away from record setter President Trump and the Republicans in the House and Senate say nothing. Now this same group wants to prevent Americans from receiving more than $600 in payments in a COVID package? These individuals are not for the people.
President Trump won the 2020 election with more votes than any candidate ever. He crushed the old record set by Barack Obama in 2008 of 69 million. President Trump became the first candidate in US history to surpass 70 million votes. His rallies and unscripted boat parades, car parades and more indicated a big win, but his win was extraordinary.

But the Republicans in the House and Senate are blind to the results. They believe Biden won 20 million or more votes than he really received reaching over 80 million to become the first candidate in history to do so. They remain silent as if they are part of the steal.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Wednesday ended a call with House Republicans after they began leaking to the media about his effort to kill a proposal that would include direct $2,000 payments to Americans.

I’m over 60 and I’ve been hearing the about national debt my whole life. I would like to know who we are actually in debt to. I agree with your sentiment but If they’re gonna give $2000 to people I would rather they give it to us.

Is there a single member of congress—house or senate—that has any integrity? People here on FR embarrass themselves defending their favorites because of one thing they say or do, ignoring their overall behavior. Here we have McCarthy, recently it was Lyn’ Ted being Lyn’ Ted, we see Mubai Mike waging war on American workers, etc. I’d like to know if there is any one of the current members that have any integrity?
Which brings to mind... So what if the GOP gets control of Congress in 2022 if people like McCarthy are the ones running it. It's all a sick game of Dems and the GOP pretending to fight, getting the public to donate billions to campaigns, of which millions are siphoned off to favored consultants, and in the end both sides sell out the public so the insiders can get obscenely wealthy doing nothing except being connected to the insider club.

I emailed my Congressman, LEE ZELDIN , and told him we are done being Republicans and are switching party affiliations. It’s amazing how out of touch these guys are. Why not give the part time waitress, or every American and illegal immigrant for that matter, $20,000 or $600,000? That's absurd, you would say, it would bust the budget. You would be right, we are now $27 trillion in acknowledged debt and, unfortunately, not counting.
President Trump made the classic mistake of Republicans and conservatives, that is, to try to outflank the left on the left. It never works. Nancy Pelosi simply doubled down and said, "okay, we will gladly shell out $2000 per person." Now Trump is reduced to arguing about Pakistan while denying the waitress her money. Game, set and match.
This madness to do the opposite of what is required is grounded on the misconception that we do not live in a time of scarcity. We simply do not have the money to give the poor waitress $2000 or even $600. We certainly don't have the money to pay for women's studies in Pakistan. Yet we do, why?
Because we have no apprehension that we are living in a time of scarcity. We simply print all the money we want and if were going to do that why not print enough to give the waitress $20,000?
For the very short time being we are capable of printing all the money we want because the United States is uniquely situated as the world's dominant military power, the world's reserve currency, the world's greatest economy-all three of these unique distinctions are likely soon to evaporate and leave us the world's greatest debtor. At that point we are likely to disintegrate from within.
The issue is not whether McCarthy is being prudent or stupid in his remarks, call McCarthy smart if you consider our national priorities but call him stupid if you consider the potential consequences on the Georgia election. Take your pick.
But do not react simply because President Trump has come down on one side or another of this issue. His profligacy will be one of the blackest marks on his otherwise brilliant presidency. Donald Trump's theory on taking office in 2017 was to get the economy back on track along with the military and worry about the budget later assuming that growing the economy would compensate for profligate spending needed to bolster the military and maintain public support of his administration.
The Democrats just stole the election and put stop to that plan. We will now have unrestrained public spending on bizarre left-wing objectives. We will continue oblivious to our real condition of scarcity until we sail over the cliff.
The proper solution for the current state of affairs with this virus is to rely on the vaccine and open up the economy. Again the Democrats, operating through their governors, frustrate this sensible approach and compel Republicans on the one hand, like McCarthy, to say "me less" and Republican Donald Trump on the other hand to say, "me more" stimulus giveaway. But we can't outflank Nancy Pelosi on the left.
Do you want to win the Georgia election or do you want to have a whole new Republican Party?

I’d love more context to this comment, because if McCarthy’s position is to deny the payments and open up up the country instead, I’m all for that. These stimulus checks are really no more than an expensive mollification feel good exercise.
Knowing the critters that inhabit Washington, though, it’s unlikely this was his meaning...
It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that McCarthy is a snake and a back-stabber. However, I’ve watched and listened to him closely since Trump became president and was impressed how solid and consistent for the president was.
I’m not completely convinced that what actually happened is consistent of these so-called leaked reports of McCarthy working against Trump. The original source is Mediaite. Mediaite claims that participants in the call started leaking what McCarthy said. Well, to whom were the links given? Has any news outlet acted on these leaks? And how did McCarthy find out about the leaks while the conversation was still in progress?
So far, this doesn’t add up to me. I remain skeptical. But we’ll soon find out what McCarthy’s public position is.
If they stole the presidential election then they will steal the two Georgia senatorial seats. I suppose we should be glad that there will be an economic collapse while the Dems have power. That will destroy THEM in 2022. In the next two years, conservatives should leave the Republican Party en masse, destroying IT, or at least its leaders.
