so how is yippe financed?
I have been using StartPage. Does anyone have any information on whether or not they are capturing or sharing user information?
Google buys any start up that tries to compete with it. That’s why I laughed at all the “principled conservatives” who told us, early on, to “start your own Google/Facebook”, etc. when we say the growing threat. I’m talking to you Mike Lee, your vaccine damaged whacko.
found that DuckDuckGo donates heavily to far left wing causes and takes money from anti-American billionaire George Soros.
Suspect? Prove it. Otherwise this is just about as useful as an anoymouse source.
Cookies are used for many things, not just tracking users. DuckDuckGo has settings and cookies are used to keep track of settings.
Note, I do not sign-in to DuckDuckGo. I use a VPN to mask my location and source IP address. They do not know who I am. Hell, I don't even see ads because they are all blocked.
Bkmk
Zero proof they hand anything to google. What a bs hit job by some dude with a giant conflict of interest.
Utter. Crap.
The ominous goggle is so intertwined with everything. Do a search and watch the lower right side of the screen (at least on mine) and watch the process. You’ll see goggle show up as it runs through the search a lot. I NEVER use ‘ie’ for anything and yet when I do my daily clean up, invariably there is something in the ‘ie’ history.

I traded google for duckduckgo several years ago. I also routinely have my iPad configured to block all cookies, so nothing intrusive or mine-able is ever stored or shared. I turn cookies on only when I’m visiting my usual banking or utility payment sites, or if I’m making a purchase. And I check the stored cookies once a week and delete any that shouldn’t be there.
” Granville noted. “DuckDuckGo may not be tracking you on their servers — which I find hard to believe“
I wouldn’t expect a CEO of one of their competitors to believe otherwise.
And it seems that Mr. Granville is a Q fan. Oh, dear.

My problem with DDG is search quality. Google is only marginally better. Google was awesome back in 2010 or so. Today it’s crap. DDG results are worse. Bing has a long way to go also.
Yippy.com? Seriously?
Yippy has IBM technology all over their explanatory pages.
Do youbbn trust IBM?
I’ve been thinking Google maps tracks my movements and, when I get home, they contact the cold callers to try to get me to switch my Medicare, and electrical providers and to buy extended warranty insurance.
and:
“...which I find hard to believe — but, certainly they are

Report: Search Site DuckDuckGo Hands User Data Over to Google
Poof! WOW! BOOM! Just like that.
No direct evidence/proof/etc. Just "seems", "wonders", and "finds hard to believe"
What a joke.
This isn’t compelling. The use of “cookies” isn’t a problem. Just about every single web site on the internet uses them. A given “cookie” is “per domain” and is only accessible by the domain (server) which created it. It isn’t some generally searchable data point by every other web site.
It would require additional back-end collaboration between the two entities - requiring some shared knowledge of the user, like knowing an email address. While this is done by many big-tech companies, there’s no evidence here that this involves duckduckgo.com
LMAO at all the people who have shrieked at us about not using Google for years.
