Amid a staggering daily increase in newly confirmed coronavirus cases, Gov. Mike DeWine once again pleaded with the public to continue wearing a mask and practicing social distancing, fearing that further increases would result in schools and businesses being forced to shut down.
DeWine, speaking during a news conference in Cleveland, did not say any such measure was imminent, but said he was caught off guard by the increase in coronavirus cases over the past three weeks. But a continuing surge in the virus had the possibility to upend the progress the state has made on the economy and reopening schools, he said.
Public health officials have always predicted an increase in cases as the weather turned colder, a time when people move activities inside.
Even knowing that, I was surprised at the rate of increase, DeWine said. And one of the things that should cause us some concern is, unlike the summer when we saw these cases mostly be among young people, were seeing the age go up. The other difference between now and summer is were seeing the hospitalization go up at a faster rate than it did during the summer. We can only assume, or Im assuming, that is because were now talking about an older group....

Or at least scaring people who were planning to vote this way to vote some other way, a way that is easier to commit fraud with or that results in an excuse to count the vote for days?
For your consideration/ping list.
What is it about Ohio Republicans that all their officials act like somebody has pics of them with dead boys or live goats?
What does he think would happen if he shut the whole state down like some Dem gov’s did?
DeWino the Rhino is on a mission from hell, loves his spots on CNN, a real nutcase.
Again????
What has happened to Ohio? First Koo-Koo Kasich now this asshat?
tend to agree with you re OHIO...(unless I am missing some other significant data)

Seems like.
Bah.
Sounds to me like he’s being reasonable. Don’t know the details there though.
I never need to wear a mask, but there are places I’d wear one if I couldn’t avoid going to them.
Yep! This is horseshiite...hospitals are empty
Ohio voters need to do better.
What’s the death rate like these days?
People getting sick isn’t the problem.
It’s the government killing off those who are most vulnerable that is.
Bah.

I never need to wear a mask, but there are places Id wear one if I couldnt avoid going to them.
....
Fine and dandy, so long as you understand these ridiculous masks do NOT prevent you from getting or passing this virus.
Cancelled. Discouraged. Limited. Whatever it takes. I don't think people realize how brutal Election Day is going to be in many important places. I don't see how anyone can look at the DEMs of the last four years and not believe they have something cooked up to steal this election.
Throw in some voter intimidation on Election Day and a few days before. Call in a bomb threat to a GOP-heavy precinct early on the east coast and actually set it off, followed by hundreds of bomb threats nation-wide.
[Why do I think this is all about getting in-person voting on election day cancelled? ]
Replace ‘coronavirus’ with ‘liberalism’ and it all makes sense.
RE: Crippling effect... if not controlled.
By “controlled”, did the government tell his constituents EXACTLY what he has in mind?
I hope it’s not going to be another total lockdown...
It is so reasonable to lock up healthy people and push 8 million Americans below the poverty line. What an ignorant and sheep-like opinion.
Ohio is a rino factory. It chews up conservatives and spits out rinos. Dewine, Kasich, Voinovich....pray Jim Jordan doesn’t fall.
