1. Salaries adjusted/reduced for cost of living for at home workers.
2. You are now competing with anyone with a computer anywhere the world for your job .to include AI.
3. In a few years it will become readily apparent that those who are in an office and have actual human contacts/relationships get promoted and raises at a much higher rate.
I am not the only one feeling officesick.
Ha! Not me. I LOVE working from home.

I’ve heard others say it’s been nice for awhile but gets old fast....I suppose it has something to do with what the job is you’re doing. Some still have to return to the office for meetings etc. so they have both worlds.
I now have 4 jobs. 2 are working from home. Fun times. :)
No thanks. Would rather work from home.
Miss that Hottie in accounting do ya! :>)
Your #2 point is the main reason companies want to keep it.
I was about to say that I know MANY people who will now be working from home, and they LOVE it!
I have been in companies where face time was critical to career growth.
Now that I am older, I have come to realize those are the companies I do NOT wish to represent. They are nothing more than meat grinders. You might be this years Rock Star, but next year you will only be Above Average, and when your mentor leaves in two years you will only be Barely Functional.
What goes around comes around. I would much rather have a company where everyone is treated like family. Where we know we arent perfect, but we try.
And BTW, I love working from home. Our family has melded well with Teams, and we have a WhatApp group that is affectionately titled to remind us that we are a family.
I’m in the ‘vulnerable’ category, and I’m one of the people who are teleworking indefinitely.
I haven’t much minded working from home - I can do most of what I did just as well here at home, as I did in the office - and I can do a lot of it faster and more efficiently without the usual distractions of the workplace.
But I really miss the daily routine, the change in scenery, and seeing my coworkers. I work with a great bunch of people, and I miss the daily interaction with them.
Wait until they start to monitor you....
Aquaintence in Health Insurance, requiring mostly phone work ,... company installed some sort of alarm if away from the phone for a certain period of time the office is notified and they then call.
for those enjoying lockdown...good luck to you. their whoe purpose is tied to the Nov US presidential election, as a weapon against Donald Trump. nowhere is it more obvious than in Australia, where this is their only HOTSPOT.

11 Oct: The Australian: Victorian Premier now flags lockdown extension
Daniel Andrews says a faster easing of Melbourne’s lockdown measures is ‘unlikely’, as US presidential debate is cancelled
by Emily Ritchie
Mr. Andrews said while the 14-day rolling daily averages of 9.5 and 0.4 cases respectively in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria meant the State was in an “infinitely better position”, it also meant lockdowns would likely be extended...

If you work from home, you will be competing with an location with an internet connection. The salary will be adjusted accordingly

True, if you can do your job from 20 miles away, someone else can do it from 8000 miles away.
I have no idea what your real point is.
Hahaha. No comment.
Im glad I went back to the classroom, although its a bit of a struggle. Those I know who chose to stay home are having a rougher time, even if theres no commute.
