More than 5.5 million people have already voted ahead of the Nov. 3 elections as the coronavirus pandemic spurs a surge in absentee and early voting.
With just less than four weeks until Election Day, the number of ballots mailed in and in-person votes cast early surpassed the 5.5 million mark Wednesday, according to the United States Elections Project, which compiles early voting data. That figure is more than 73 times the number of votes that were cast at this point in 2016.
Florida and Virginia have led the spike in early voting, with more than 947,000 and nearly 770,000 votes being cast in each state, respectively.
"We've never seen this many people voting so far ahead of an election," Michael McDonald of the University of Florida, who runs the project, told Reuters Tuesday. "People cast their ballots when they make up their minds, and we know that many people made up their minds long ago and already have a judgment about Trump."
In states that report voter registration data by party, 1.2 million Democrats have returned mail-in ballots compared with just over 505,000 Republicans, indicating that President Trump's consistent and unsubstantiated remarks saying mail-in voting is susceptible to fraud may be impacting the willingness of the GOP to vote by mail....

Is this good or bad?
And hopefully many of the people who voted for Biden come to regret that in the next two weeks.
Is this good or bad?
Very good. The more that vote, the bigger the Trump landslide.
Glad that is done. I suppose the campaign robo-calls will stop by Monday.
It is the liberal way doncha know...
Duh yeah, that makes complete sense! ROTFL
and theres still more early voting etc to go...
Early voting starts next Wed in TN and runs for 2 weeks...
M-F 9-8 and Sat 8-4
Whoops
Early voting in TN
M-F 9-6 Sat 9-4
2 million already in the trash.
All part of the Rat Party’s master plan...utter chaos in the days and weeks after Election Day. Their felonious plot of 2016 failed. It’s distinctly possible that this year’s plot will succeed...at least in terms of the rulings that will surely be handed down by many, many state...and Federal...courts.
Not if you read the data.
Texas voters will soon head to the polls from Oct. 13 to Oct. 30 for early voting and on Election Day, Nov. 3 for the 2020 general election. Heres an overview of everything Texans need to know about casting a ballot in the election.
What you need to know
Learn about the precautions you should take when voting in person.
Texas has expanded its early voting period for this years general election early voting begins Oct. 13.
The state has not expanded whos eligible for mail-in voting amid the pandemic, despite efforts by state Democrats.
Election officials are still expecting a surge in mail-in ballots. The USPS recommends requesting a mail-in ballot by Oct. 19.

Remember POTUS asked mail-in voters to go to the polls and:
1. Ask if their vote was counted.
2. If not, then vote at the polling stations.
If there is no polling station as in Washington State here, then:
1. Mail in the ballot no later than the Friday before election day, OR
2. Carry the ballot to a drop-off box at a location found on the official website, AND
3. Look up online if the ballot was received and accepted for counting.
I don’t like mail-in voting here in WA State. I’ve already seen one ballot mailed to a person who moved out of state 10 years ago.
We need election integrity reform so bad but each presidential election the drama starts, then hangs, saps people emotionally, then people want to put it behind them and get on with their lives.
So election integrity reform never gets done.
I’d say, if mailed in, it would favor Dems. Republicans do not trust mail in voting.
If early voting, could be split.
We vote in person on Election Day. End of story.

| Thanks for this post, [#14] Jane. We hope to vote on the 13th unless something happens. I'll even wear a stupid mask to get this job done! |
Me too. I enjoy it.
I don’t know. I voted in-person on Friday.
