I approached the Vice Presidential debate this evening with one question: "What is Kamala Harris like?" I'd conveniently missed the primary debates so my impression of the woman was basically unformed.
Unformed but not unbiased. No one is unbiased as the tenor of moderator Susan Page's questions clearly showed.
I've heard the usual tittle-tattle about Kamala's personal life, but being a MAGA Conservative, I'm focused on the issues, not personalities. I already know what Kamala stands for, or rather doesn't stand for, Protection of the unborn coming to mind.
Still, being an inveterate people watcher, I wanted to know how Kamala would come off during the Vice Presidential debate against one of the most active, visible and loudly Christian Vice Presidents in recent memory. I know Donald Trump ain't no gentleman, thank God, because he took names and kicked Joe's ass in the last debate.
How would Kamala relate to Mike Pence? Predictably, the debate began with that beaten-to-death topic of coronavirus, coronavirus, coronavirus. As usual, the questions were obviously slanted against the current administration, touching on the 25th Amendment (transfer of power) with Kamala's talking point being "dead bodies." We get it, Kamala, you're plenty graphic. These are our family members you're talking about. Referring to them as "dead bodies" did you no favors.
Kamala's answers were stock Democrat. Beating the same drum the Democrats have beaten since the days of Will Rogers. Republicans are just for the wealthy. Republicans deny science. Answers so pat, so unimaginative, so predictable that I caught myself zoning out when Kamala spoke. I've heard Democrats say the same things for forty years. Their claims are no more true now than they were in 1984!
But my ears perked up when Kamala again referred to herself as "Black" while, according to Reuters, "the press, as well as Kamala Harris herself, have continually described her racial identity as Black, South Asian, Indian-American, African-American, and Jamaican-American." Personally, I wish she'd be consistent. It feels, in my opinion, that she selects her race depending on each situation.
Of course, the issue of President Trump's taxes rapidly followed coronavirus, coronavirus, coronavirus. When Kamala brought up the debt that any businessman carries, including Trump, she looked into the camera to clarify for the apparently stupid American public by saying that "debt" means "you owe money to somebody."
Thank you for that, Kamala. We had no idea.
Yes, my fellow Americans, Kamala does think you're an idiot.
In fact, throughout the entire debate I found Kamala to embody condescension. Now, as a quiet person, I've been condescended to a lot in my life, usually by women on power trips who later showed themselves to inept. So I'm something of a self-taught expert on condescension and Kamala's condescension was, in my opinion, vile. It did her no favors as a woman nor as a politician.
But she could be funny too, perhaps inadvertently. When she said Joe is "honest and forthright," I chuckled. He certainly is forthright about his racism and his more-than-creepy interest in the little children he fondles on camera.
Honesty is to not need a teleprompter because you speak from the heart. Trump needs no teleprompters because he is honest. Biden can't do an interview without one.
Now, no one was more grateful for the increased civility during this debate than I was. But it's a debate, for Pete's sake! Some talking over, some spirited back-and-forth is as true to debate as it is to the American spirit. We don't want it too sanitized.
But when Mike Pence dared to call Kamala out for not telling the truth immediately after she claimed the debate was about truth, Kamala again showed her condescension by speaking down to the Vice President of the United States.
Joe told the President of the United States to "shut up." Kamala raised your eyebrows, talked down to and treated the VP Pence like a naughty child.
As my husband said, "If the Democratic ticket treats the Executive Branch with such condescension, imagine how they'll treat the middle class."
Their condescension knows no end. They tout long-debunked myths about Trump's supposed disrespect to our men and women in uniform, again insulting our intelligence quite ignoring Joe calling them "stupid bastards." But condescension is also flip-flopping on the issues as we won't notice: "They were for the Green New Deal, before they were against it, before they were for it!"
Well, which is it?!?
I couldn't believe it when Kamala said, "Y'know what a bounty is?" and then defined it for us. Um, we know what a bounty is just as we know what debt is. We're not stupid, Kamala.
Heavy sigh.
On the topic of packing the Supreme Court, she condescended to Pence's summation of the history with a sarcastic coo of, "I'm so glad we went through that history lesson," and when Pence pressed her to actually answer the question, she again talked down to the VP Pence. The bright smile. The raised eyebrows. The nodding. She was obviously on a power trip and it reflected badly on Kamala, not on Mike Pence, ever the gentleman.
There's much talk about toxic masculinity. I feel we just witnessed toxic feminism.
Later she snapped, "I will not sit here and be lectured." Actually, she said it twice.
It seems there are two standards on that stage. She lectures Pence but he is not free to share the details of Kamala's voting record. He wasn't lecturing. She did...repeatedly.
From only a personality perspective, Mike Pence comported himself calmly, intelligently and as the gentleman he is. It's nice to see a Christian with the strength of character and strength of VP Pence.
Kamala was a worthy opponent and debater but her attitude did her no favors. Condescension looks good on no one and yes, my fellow Americans, Kamala demonstrated repeatedly that, yes, she does think you're an idiot.
How does it feel?
To me...Harris, proved that females are too hormonal and wild, hysterical, upsets easily, Angry, Hateful and have no place in the WHITE HOUSE...both POTUS, and VPOTUS, require workers, doers, and strength....Harris who has never given birth to a child, THANK GOD FOR THAT...but she certainly believe in killing babies right up to birth...that makes my blood boil ...
Just my opinion...
Question missing to Janice Lester tonight:
Would you have danced for Joe Biden when you were 14?
Shallow is the word that comes to my mind when I think of her knowledge on subjects. She hardly ever presents an historical context for her opinion, then shes quick to jump to her character assassinations, which shows me she doesnt know much about the subject or she agrees with her opponent, knows she cannot win this point, so just tries to hurl dirt balls at him.
My Mother was a victim of PA Serial Killer Governor Tom Wolf.
They clearly knew the questions in advance.

She got mostly softballs. As expected Pence got far more ‘critical statements cast as questions” thrown at him. The moderator did a poor job of concealing her bias. As expected.
The consensus Im getting is that Pence won, simply because he wasnt a condescending butthead.

I thought Pence started off a little slow but, like a diesel engine, after he warmed up he got steadily stronger as the debate went on. He dominated the last half hour in my opinion. He was also more in control of his emotions and respectful than Harris was.
This was a difficult question a friend asked me tonight:
Who is more annoying? Harris or Hillary Clinton?
By the end of the debate, I had to say, Harris. I sat through the entirety of the Trump/Clinton debates - mostly because Trump had a classic line every ten minutes.
I had to leave the room with Harris by the end. She’s such a liar, condescending (”a debt is when you owe money to someone”), left of Bernie Sanders politically, and clearly who the looney Dems plan on having to be the actual POTUS. Another shadow President as Biden is in hospice care in two years.
That this election is even close is sad. What a pathetic ticket Dims have put together this time.
HARRIS has NO children...Six years ago she married a man who has two adult kids from his first marriage...
Harris believes in killing babies right up to birth...that makes me weep..
I’m the mom of an adult son, we adopted as a new born, and I praise God every day he was not aborted but we were blessed to adopt him...and I’m MOM, and he has loved us totally unconditionally...
we have been BLESSED...
Interesting! When did Victoria run?
Shallow is the word that comes to my mind when I think of her knowledge on subjects.

She’s an emoter, not a thinker.
No depth at all. Its all about feelings, not facts.
That this election is even close is sad.

It is indeed. The thought of the radical, emotional and hateful Harris ascending to the presidency is absolutely frightening. The damage she could do to this country would be enormous and long lasting.
Dont understand why Pence and Trump dont tell the truth about the 220k Covid deaths.
I wish Pence would have asked her
“when you jammed that anti-lynching bill through, did you know that Jussie Smollett was going to pull a hoax right after? You’re friends, right??”
Democrats think voters are stupid, because, well, why else would anyone vote for a democrat?
That gives you standing to sue.
Good article/posting!
In business, it is LEVERAGE:
What Is Leverage?Leverage results from using borrowed capital as a funding source when investing to expand the firm's asset base and generate returns on risk capital. Leverage is an investment strategy of using borrowed moneyspecifically, the use of various financial instruments or borrowed capitalto increase the potential return of an investment. Leverage can also refer to the amount of debt a firm uses to finance assets.
Apparently, she doesn't know what THAT definition is.

Wolf, Murphy and (especially the uber-stupid-and-yet-arrogant) Cuomo killed so many people that I seriously wonder how it will be possible for any of them to live to their normal life expectancies. Not that I really care about any of them (including Witless Whittmer), but it will be quite interesting to see how long it will take after their 24/7 security goes away before some extremely aggrieved person decides to introduce that monumental bitch, Karma, to these murderers.
I also had never heard her speak. She came off to me as someone who has no qualifications to become President of the United States if called upon to be. An affirmative action candidate. Her whiny nasally voice also annoyed me.
