Amazon Studios LOTR Series Heads Into Uncharted Carnal Waters with Casting Call for Nudity and an Intimacy Coordinator
This might be a singularly surprising or even upsetting concept to present to Tolkien fans. If I were to address this reality to Star Wars, or Harry Potter, or even Miyazaki fandom it would raise eyebrows or outright alarm. But gather round the campfire and hear my tremulous words:Prepare for a newly-sexualized version of your favorite fantasy world....
Fact check: We can confirm Amazon Studios has hired Jennifer Ward-Lealand, a well-known New Zealand Intimacy Coordinator, for the Lord of the Rings production...
Fact check: Rumor! An open casting call for background extras comfortable with nudity with a production code of JAZZ. We have seen other casting notices that may apply to Lord of the Rings using codeword JAZZ for interesting-looking actors and horse riders. Just how many naked extras do you need for a classy, romantic love-making scene?...

I’ve never seen a single episode or even minute of Game of Throne. However, someone here once called it soft porn.
If Amazon decides to put soft porn in this series, then good luck on ever getting Tolkien’s estate to release First Age material.
Intimacy coordinator? Fancy word for pimp.
Im nearing the end of season two. Parts of it are absolutely pornographic. Easy enough to skip past those parts since they add nothing to the story. But aside from the occasional gratuitous grab-assing (and worse), its an excellent series.
Cool! Some of those Elven chicks were hot.
Do you think Tolkien’s estate is considering releasing First Age material?
The first few episodes had some "soft" porn. I think it was dialed way back after some outrage.
The rest of the series just showed occasional boobs.
And that is the point the author, a Tolkien expert, is making: Tolkien left such things out of his stories, not because he hated lovemaking, but because, like old fashioned movies, such things are better to be implied than shown.
How many modern movies include nude scenes or R rated scenes (or gratuitous violence for that matter) to attract an audience, but in reality these scenes just slow down the plot?
and the author also points out that a Tolkien themed show would be assumed by parents to be child friendly...
and the push back by fans will result in the series being rejected. One reason Peter Jackson's original films followed the book was that he got input from fandom that Tolkien’s story was important.
Get woke, go broke... this is another left wing attempt to destroy culture.
Intimacy Coordinators Are Making Waves in HollywoodHeres How to Become One
Snort.
Whatever.
Them Elf chicks were hot and are entertaining to look at.
Let me add, lots of gutter language referencing body parts. Definitely not family-friendly, while Tolkien's milieu began as children's story books.
No, its a legit job to prevent actresses from being pressured into doing things theyre not comfortable with. I know an intimacy coordinator.
Liv Tyler.
The other actors in elf-costume seemed stoic and alien. Long straight hair and expressionless faces.
I don’t remember any boobs in the last season at all. Maybe once or twice.
Hollywood is filled with perverts so each set should have an intimacy coordinator.
GoT is an excellent show but it definitely has a lot of nude scenes.
I would agree with your friend. The show is “soft porn.”
I agree. Most love scenes in movies are kinda boring. They’ve become so commonplace that they’re not interesting.
