What to Do in 2024: We Need to Look Ahead Now
Medium ^ | September 21, 2020 | Matt Latsha

Donald Trump is a once in a generation candidate. It seems that both parties get one. Every decade or so, one of the parties get a candidate who excites the base, wakes up voters, and crosses party lines. There is no “next” Donald Trump, and everyone knows this.

The last twenty years have taught us political lifers and dull personalities won't be president. Between John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Hillary Clinton, very little charisma existed. Their experiences as Senators paled when facing Obama's and Trump's big personalities.

Not generally a big fan of political dynasties, but in this case, I think Jr, would be an excellent candidate and POTUS

Not to mention, it would bring to pass the old saying that "everything comes in threes". In this case, three father-namesake son presidencies:

1. John Adams // John Quincy Adams.

2. George H.W. Bush / Dubya;

3. Donald J. Trump / Donald Trump, Jr.

We need an outsider who can and will fight the Deep State and the MSM:

I like the Fox News people, in order: Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham. Any of them are less far-fetched than Trump was before he ran.

I like Ivanka Trump more than Don Jr. She is smarter and much more likable. Maybe she should run for Governor of NY State first.

I generally don’t like senators — they are *all* corrupt — but I would be good with Tim Scott.

Nikki Haley is one of the best speakers I have ever seen, and will be a very strong contender because of it; but she was not strongly pro-Trump until just recently and she is probably just pretending to jump on the bandwagon. She is a Trojan horse for the Never Trumpers.

Jared Kushner is very impressive, Ivanka, Don jr.
There could be a dynasty in the making.

“Jim Jordan”.

A great possibility! But he might want to stay Speaker of the House by then. :) We need him in whatever slot he fills.

A Governor, high level businessman, or a military man are executive positions “worthy” of being POTUS.

Let me qualify that - not a big Pence fan for POTUS because it’s a return to what the GOP was, but he is a solid supporter (so it appears) of all things Trump.

Jim Jordan or John Ratcliffe. I would add Matt Gaetz, but I’m a little suspicious of him after that one vote of his.

“Obama? W? Pierre Delecto?”

It is not clear which Trump predecessor they were referring to.

I like the Fox News people, in order: Lou Dobbs, Tucker Carlson

I wish Carlson would run - he's very smart, very articulate, a great communicator, and he's a passionate conservative. This makes him complete unlike most of the GOP. I'd vote for him.

Is it enough to just be in favor of all the right things, or do you also want someone with the ability to accomplish his agenda? Voting for someone because he or she gives a good speech or interview on FOX is not enough. Even Don Jr., as good an advocate for conservative causes as he is, is not his father. Does he have the same deal making skills as his dad? I don’t know. I’d like to see him run for Mayor of Governor of New York first.

My choice for president in 2024? President Donald J Trump.

Look. The Democrats stole over two years of his first Administration with Russian scandal charges, then impeachment. President Trump deserves a third term. How that can happen, and if that can happen, I do not know.

Bob Dole is 97 years old. No way he makes a political comeback. Just saying.
