Groups of conservatives, QAnon supporters, and others on social media have jumped on the release of the French coming-of-age film Cuties and a trending “Cancel Netflix” hashtag to associate the company with pedophilia.
A Netflix spokesperson on Thursday defended “Cuties” as an award-winning “social commentary,” according to the DCNF, “Cuties is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children. It’s an award-winning film and a powerful story about the pressure young girls face on social media and from society more generally growing up – and we’d encourage anyone who cares about these important issues to watch the movie.”
But it seems that Netflix is in real trouble.
Members of Congress are demanding action be taken against Netflix including a possible investigation by the Department of Justice. Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton and Indiana Rep. Jim Banks have called on the Department of Justice to bring legal action against Netflix for releasing the film “Cuties”

They even admit what it is being criticized for is 100% accurate - but arguing it is actually a moral good for young children to be sexualized.
He is freaking me out. How weird he is!!! It is disgusting to see.
Every single little girl, he has his hands down her chest. Just a bit south of her armpits. Right next to her small breasts. And then, in full view of the cameras, he slides them over to try to cover her breasts. The man is repulsive and thoroughly disgusting; perhaps even dangerous (if he didn’t have constant supervision).
He must NOT become the president. Then, he’d have anything he wanted. Just like Bill Clinton.
And sadly there are people defending Netflix because it still has “good things” on it and they don’t want to give up paying them cash to help them put things like this into society. Sort of like the logic used to defend the funding Planned Parenthood - because they do more than kill children.

Exactly right. This movie is a big slap in the face to the hip hop culture.Many people commenting on this film have not watched it or have a clue what it is about.
What do y’all expect when these kids see the same thing during superbowl half time show. That is what cuties was all about. How our kids are subjected to this hip hop culture everyday and they want to emulate that and “fit in” with the cool kids. There was nothing wrong with the movie itself, it was a true depiction of what our youth are exposed to every day and it being normal and kids want to be like britany speers, miley cyrus, madonna etc. What is sickening is how this movie was marketed
We all knew it was coming. It's just going to get worse. "Cuties" is just the pedos prodding the lines, seeing what they can get away with.

Its amazing that girls growing up in a culture of hypersexualization don’t end up completely schizophrenic. Imagine trying to understand this when your heritage, like Amy in the movie, is a paternalistic collectivist Muslim culture that relegates the lives of most women to servants of men.
The allure of using sexual power to resist this inevitability must be incredibly exciting but in the end, as Amy learns, it leads her away from her “true” self which is that of a young girl growing up as a member of a family and community.
Its actually a very conservative message if you can get past the predictable knee jerk reactions of the conservative matriarchy to the superficial mimicry of hypersexual pop icons by clueless little girls who “just want to have fun”.
This is what happens with all these corporations who show their middle finger to their customers. They hold on tight and wait for the backlash to be forgotten and people move on to other things. Then they work quietly to re-coup their losses. This is how they set the new normal in the left wing, corrupt, perverted area.
It may be a commentary against the current — um, trend — but in seeming to display and exploit that very same trend, it’s presentation is ugly at best and downright dangerous at worst.
Wasn’t there a time in which this “sexuality” was a child handing a Valentine’s day card to another cute kid in the classroom or two 12-year-olds having their mutual first kiss in Jr. High?
It’s sad commentary that the US Congress must make this demand of the Executive.

The government is failing because it is thoroughly corrupt. As Will Rogers famously said “we have the best government money can buy”.
The congress is just as corrupt as the agencies it is supposed to watch over. So where’s the outrage? By and large the American people seem to be OK with the lying, the deceit, the cronyism, and the corruption. Otherwise they would be removing the scoundrels.

The best analysis simply put. It very well may have a good message overall but is marketed as pornish and unnecessarily graphic with pedophilia imagery defeating the purpose of a positive message.
