...The physical and mental strain of high-level public speaking and debates can be arduous, even debilitating. For seniors especially, constant levels of high stress can cause dangerous and lasting effects, including high blood pressure, weakened immune system, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and an increased risk for heart disease. If the Democrats want a healthy Joe Biden in 2021 and beyond, they would be wise to have him skip the debates and all the preparation they require.
While Biden has said “he can hardly wait” to take on Trump in the debates, I don’t think his team or his proxies will let him. Even before Kenosha, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Lockhart, and others were publicly urging their candidate to pull out of the debates, ostensibly because of Trump’s alleged incorrigible dishonesty. I expect that the drumbeat to withdraw will increase steadily over the next two weeks. The usual anti-Trump “bombshells” by the media (like those in the Atlantic and in Bob Woodward’s latest book) will provide the Democrats some cover, though dodging the debates will hurt them in some circles.
If Biden defies my prediction and proceeds with the debates — whether out of misplaced confidence or desperation — they are far more likely to be a disaster for him than a success. Although he and Trump are roughly the same age, right now they are worlds apart in terms of their mental and physical abilities...

The problem I see with the Covid-19 scenario...maybe he does disappear for four to six weeks...but what happens if he reappears, and a week later...has real Covid-19? How do you explain that?

I think so, too. And what the dickens would Biden ‘think’ to ask anyway? He would have questions written for him anyway, sure, but if Trump redirected, he would have NO ability to redirect.

A former Secret Service agent assigned to then-VP Joe Biden’s residence claims that the Secret Service often had to protect female agents from him.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the agent asserted that, “We had to cancel the VP Christmas get together at the Vice President’s house because Biden would grope all of our wives and girlfriend’s asses.”
The annual party was for agents and Navy personnel who were tasked with protecting the Biden family.
“He would mess with every single woman or teen. It was horrible,” the agent said.
According to the source, a Secret Service agent once got suspended for a week in 2009 for shoving Biden after he cupped his girlfriend’s breast while the couple was taking a photo with him.
The situation got so heated, the source tells Big League, that others had to step in to prevent the agent from hitting the then-Vice President.
The SS records of the incident were later destroyed (to protect Biden).
It is my humble opinion that Trump and Kanye cooked up the idea for Kanye to run so he could argue that he should be allowed to debate Trump and they would just end up having a friendly discussion. But Kanye wasn’t able to get on enough ballots in enough states.
Simple. If the debates are cancelled Trump holds massive rallies in battelground states on the dates the debates were originally scheduled. He can rip Hidin’ Biden to pieces.
If Biden refuses to debate, President Trump and Kanye West should hold a “debate” that turns into a Trump campaign rally. I’d buy tickets to see that.

He’s not healthy now and this needs to be emphasized by Republicans. The democrats are perpetrating a fraud on the American people by trying to say that there’s nothing wrong with Biden.
It’s a pipe dream. He is going to debate Trump at least once. If he wins the first debate he may not do the others.

This is my prediction. He has far more to lose by backing out of the debates. The MSM is on his side no matter what he does during a debate. It always can be re-framed to his advantage.
Agree with covid being the excuse. 6 weeks quarantine and the media will claim Trump should suspend campaigning out of fairness.
Well, of course, if candidate Biden is not up to a debate, and the effort might be actually dangerous to his health, by all means we should cancel.
When he wins, all the pressure will be off, and he can relax, because we know being POTUS is a cake walk...
I fully expect Joe to drop any debates and the lame stream media will with a straight face deliver whatever spin Biden’s handlers supply them. However, debates have been a fixture of the Presidential race since Kennedy and Nixon and to suddenly drop them for some flimsy reason likely related to COVID will not play well. The COVID excuse will likely raise questions about a Biden’s overall health. The excuse of Trump is mean, a liar etc. will be seen as a cop out. Biden is between a rock and a hard spot. The debates will be a disaster and not doing them could be equally as bad.

Certainly, nobody knows (except maybe Biden’s handlers) if Sleepy will participate...
But, comments here are just part of the political parlour game leading up to the election...

Bottom line: If Biden debates, it will be fixed in some way. To quote Rush: “Do. Not. Doubt. Me.” It’ll be difficult, though. An earpiece will be too obvious considering the time lags that would be required. Having the debate “virtually” with each man in a different location might be set up so he can read a teleprompter in secret. But he’s not capable of reading a teleprompter, as we’ve seen in the past. It’ll be a problem for them.
Maybe they’ll fake his death like at the end of “Dave”, throw him into an ambulance, and later he’ll be shuffling over a faraway hill.
Because he can barely stand up and talk?
